Great game by the Cats. I never thought they would win but the Big 3 led them to the upset. Nicely done.

Hill is the man lol

With the Richardson Trade (Suns); they likely won't be in position to Draft him though... but that was a nice Game. I should've turned off the Cardinals Game earlier lol

I'm impressed. The irony is the big man we have been looking for since even before Michael Wright happens to come into the program right when we don't have the peremiter guys to complement him. Nic Wise looked awesome tonight too.

My only fear is that Pennell does well enough to gain a swell of support to maybe *gulp* keep him on board.

Theres no chance of that happening right?

I will say he is doing a damn fine job coaching so far.....

It will never happen. I think Dunlap is more of the brains with this team. Nice article about how Dunlap has been working with Jacobson. If the Cats finish in the top-5 of the Pac-10, Pennell should get consideration for a head coaching job at a mid-major school or get an assistant job at a bigger university.

Best win of the OOC season by a Pac 10 team. I watched the 2nd half I kept waiting for the inevitable run by Gonzaga but it never came due to UA doing a nice job on both ends.

Big win.

Who is responsible for that zone the Cats were playing last night is that Pennell or Dunlap? Whoever that is, should get a job immediately IMHO, if
not the job, an assistant beyond this year.

The change in UA's defense from recent years to this game was startling and I really think it's because of that zone. A bunch of UCLA fans were talking about it today on our board it looks like a 1-1-3 or something funky maybe a matchup. Someone said they heard it's Dunlap's trademark and then someone else said no that's Pennell's D.

Whoever it is has done a hell of a job because UA looked a LOT better on defense last night and Gonzaga is a very good team.

I think Dunlap has done a great job teaching the zone and getting the most out of it, especially the traps.

Few made no excuses and was very complimentary of UA. That says a lot. Nice win. Sure would be nice if somebody, anybody, other than UCLA won the PAC 10.

Looking forward to the ASU/UA games this year.

That ASU UA game is going to be mind numbing again, this time with both teams sitting in a zone for 40 minutes. Hopefully UA keeps extending that zone into a trap.

If Rob Evans had listened to Russ Pennell from the start, Evans would still be at ASU and Pennell would've already had his big head gig. Not sure Pennell is the right fit long-term for UA, but I've always respected his game prep and game-day skills.

Sure beats O'Neill and his man-to-man defense all the time. I still won't forget how ASU went to Pendergraph play after play and KO was so stubborn, he would not go to a zone and ASU came back and beat the Cats at McKale last year. What a difference a year makes.

Yeah I agree that's one of the things I've never agreed with howland on, his refusal to even consider ever playing zone, even for a few minutes. I'm a big believer in you can win a game or two a year just by being able to confuse the opponent. If they know every trip what you'll be playing.
