well, he did, and frankly, i was expecting some life around here. guys, it's not that bad. think about it. we're ten behind, so what? schill, (new look) batista, dessens, webb, and kim, is a downright fearsome rotation. we have among the best bullpens in the league right now (except for myers, sort him out please, we'll need him- more on this later). and the offense is clicking. sure, no reliable heavy hitter other than gonzo, but spivey is on fire, so is barajas, and cintron had a hit (which bodes well...). and the best part of all this? we haven't had one game against the gnats yet. we're not far behind folks, counting those games. now we'll need myers in shape for that series, coz someone has to pitch to bonds when schill isn't on the mound...
we're playing our best baseball right now. and the teams we're stomping on aren't pushovers...phillies, braves, st. lois. these are *ahem* "world series contenders." and we're mowing em down. and that isn't even with schill back.
oh, and one more thing. it's very, very unlikely that the gnats will have a 700 winning percentage going into the playoffs. they will lose...we'll get our shots before this is over...oh, and they dont have a closer. we happen to have one of the best right now.
go dbacks!

PEEP  I thought it was a great effert by

both Curt38 and the rest of the team,it is going to be a long haul

until we get RJ and CC back.If the bats keep up the offense the

pitching will be fine.

I may have missed this if it was mentioned on air - but I saw Murph on the field coaching during the game - I thought at third, but then later it looked like at first base. Anyone know what was up? (Is it possible Yount has been made hitting coach??)

No such luck. Yount was excused for personal reasons, so Murphy covered.

It is a great idea, though!

Yount was feeling ill so didn't man first on Friday (heard this from Pittsburgh announcers)..

No peeps from me because I've been travelling from Phoenix to Portland to Pittlsburgh the past few days, hearing the ending of Friday's game on the radio in Phoenix and watching Saturday's game live at PNC Park.

actually, that's really what i wanted to say. rj is obviously out of the race. but curt...curt has a real, legit shot at the cy this year. and if its not this year, then he's probably not going to get it at all. remember, rj should be healthy next year...
don't be surprised if curt carries the dbacks, i'm sure he knows this is the best window of opportunity he'll ever have...
