well, he did, and frankly, i was expecting some life around here. guys, it's not that bad. think about it. we're ten behind, so what? schill, (new look) batista, dessens, webb, and kim, is a downright fearsome rotation. we have among the best bullpens in the league right now (except for myers, sort him out please, we'll need him- more on this later). and the offense is clicking. sure, no reliable heavy hitter other than gonzo, but spivey is on fire, so is barajas, and cintron had a hit (which bodes well...). and the best part of all this? we haven't had one game against the gnats yet. we're not far behind folks, counting those games. now we'll need myers in shape for that series, coz someone has to pitch to bonds when schill isn't on the mound...
we're playing our best baseball right now. and the teams we're stomping on aren't pushovers...phillies, braves, st. lois. these are *ahem* "world series contenders." and we're mowing em down. and that isn't even with schill back.
oh, and one more thing. it's very, very unlikely that the gnats will have a 700 winning percentage going into the playoffs. they will lose...we'll get our shots before this is over...oh, and they dont have a closer. we happen to have one of the best right now.
go dbacks!
