Former Arizona Cardinals Offensive Coordinator Jerry Sullivan. :bang:

Definitely over matched in that area. But he is a helluva WR's coach.

looked him up, hes the guy who wanted bryant johnson, then after he left here he got a job with SF and brought bryant johnson in to develop....is he even in the league anymore? This guy pulled a WR around 2 teams from the top of the draft and coached him out of the league. sounds like he is a WR guru like Grimm is a OL guru.

He "developed" Boldin, a second rounder, and Boston, a first rounder, great work!

Do you know how many 1st and 2nd round WR's have been busts? Especially at WR?

Can you give me your side that thinks he is garbage?

No thanks. He's way overrated, IMO. He spends most of his time on project guys like Larry Foster and Jason McAddley.

You develop the guys the front office and HC chooses to give you to develop no?

He was considered the best WR coach out there. Maybe he could help, Breaston, Williams, Roberts and Doucet.

If you are going to fire a coach either an assistant or head coach would you no likely do it almost immediately after the season? Surely the owners and who ever is concerned would have already made such a decision so why put it off? In fact it would be more fair to anyone going to be fired to do it immediately. That is in the world of most NFL teams.

Nah that's revisionist history. He made bad players like Jason McAddley, Nate Poole, and Kevin Kasper look competent. He made Martay Jenkins. He developed David Boston and he helped Boldin develop his route-running.

He is a great position coach, no doubt. He was with a poor coaching staff, and he was a bad coordinator, but as a position coach he's a very good one.

Jason McAddley was competent? Jenkins returned kicks and didn;t do much else. Nate Poole? Minus play vs. Vikings, what else did he ever do?

I am baffled.

There were games we were talking about McAddley as a #1. He had a couple outstanding games but could never string them together long enough. Jenkins single-handedly beat Philly in Philly back in 2002 with deep passes from Plummer.

Nate Poole was never a great player and had to overcome a serious lack of talent, but he stuck on the team for a number of years because he knew the system and was a solid route runner. He was a solid #4.

MarTay Jenkins had one good game? Nate Poole a "solid #4"? Whoa! Sullivan for the Hall of Fame!

Sullivan brought Foster with him to AZ from Detroit and he brought McAddley with him to Miami and then SF. Neither of those guys ever amounted to anything in the NFL. That's just history. There's nothing "revisionist" about it.

Revisionist history is anyone ever saying that Jason McAddley could be a #1 receiver in the NFL.

I'm not saying Sullivan is a "bad" coach, but he's definitely overrated as some sort of great developer of talent. If he came here he would spend all of his time with Max Komar and Stephen Williams.
