I totally get why we kicked on 3rd down. With all the snap issues we've had this year he was afraid of a bad snap, if you kick on 3rd down you might still get a kick on 4th if you have a bad snap.

I was surprised we went on 2nd down I thought we'd run one play Center the ball and kick it. DJ ran wide left so the ball ended up on the left hash and Cat missed. I actually thought the penalty helped us it changed the angle slightly but Cat just missed.

DJ was so close to getting it in there but you make that FG we win, Cat has to make it period.

First and goal at the 18" line .............. Johnson (the work horse was tired after 33 rushes and 8 catches) so why not run #38 or have Palmer sneak it in with Fitz and Johnson pushing him forward? Too many BA weak play calls, and tiring Johnson out. They have depth at running back, why not give Johnson a blow more often to keep him fresh? Reading some are blaming Catman for the loss,,,,the kicker is only as good as the blocking. Wagner (Hawk) presented again a problem for Catman to get off the kick that hit the goalpost. Looking at the game stats, unacceptable offensive lack of points scored, and that's got to be carried by the play calling, IMO.

Not a newbie here, had to re-register to post.

I was screaming this at the TV last night. He let a struggling kicker try from a bad angle

I'm not sure what you are talking about, "a struggling kicker". Going in to that kick, he's missed 1 XP, the Patriots kick on a bad snap, and the block earlier in the game. So he's basically missed one kick this year, maybe 2 if you want to count the Pats kick. I do agree that the ball should have been centered up, but he wasn't "Struggling".

Well, we can lump a bunch of you in with the dufus Arians, then--IN NO WORLD DO YOU CONTINUE RUNNING PLAYS. We iced our own kicker, gave Seattle hope, wasted a timeout, took a penalty, and blew the game. JOHNSON DOESN'T RUN IN A VACUUM--he needs holes to run through and can't always break tackles--as he didn't at the goal line last night. A bad snap, a bad handoff, a helmet on the ball--there are dozens of things that can go wrong there. You trot the kicker out there and you have all kinds of time, plenty of downs, and a timeout in your pocket, from the...what was it, one yard line?

You kick the field goal. Every. Single. Effing. Time. Yinz just got brutal proof positive of that, and are showing you're just as screwed in the head as our MORONIC head coach.

Arians' full on bitchfest in the post game presser was embarrassing as well.

Right now, in what's really the first season with widespread national attention, it looks like he and the team are choking under the weight of massive expectations.

Or the same exact thing happens on the field goal on first down and the same armchair coaches complain from their couch that they left three downs on the field. We've seen enough special teams gaffes this year where I am not going to crucify the coach for trying to get the ball in the end zone twice. I would have had Palmer fall toward the middle of the field on first down and kicked it on second down, but I understand the decision to punch the ball in and not leave it in the hands of a kicking unit that already had one blocked.

I would have been okay with Palmer middling the ball.

But honestly, if the coach is that worried about kicking a 23 yard field goal and then no changes are made the following week, it's on HIM for not holding anyone accountable. No coach should be afraid to kick a game winning FG from the 5 yard line.

I have no problem with running the ball 2 times close to the end zone in OT.

I do have a problem with BAs decisions during Regulation.

My first issue was when the Cardinals got down to the 20 late in the 2nd quarter and only had 17 seconds and no time outs. I was yelling for them to kick the field goal. Only bad things can happen with 17 seconds and no timeouts. If you are tackled in bound half over. If you are sacked half over. Kick the freaking field goal!

Then going for it on 4 and 1 inside the Seahawk 20. WHY!!!! Kick the field goal. Didn't BA hear me yelling at him from section 432 to kick the damn field goal!!!!

That's two games blown to an inferior team where BA was out coached.

I'd also love to know how it wa possible to get a delay of game penalty before our last kick.

How the hell are we not ready there/ice our own kicker?

Live I thought we did it on purpose to change the angle but Arians said we didn't.

I think they were rushing to the line to catch them off guard.....or they wanted to not get a penalty.

CATANZARO DOES NOT KICK IN A VACUUM. ARIANS DOES NOT COACH IN A VACUUM. In most situations I agree that you trot the kicker out there on first down, but after TWO special team blocks it is far from moronic to trust the best aspect of the team (Johnson running the ball) over the weakest part of the team (special teams). Getting a delay of game penalty was a huge mistake. Running on first and second down was not.
