If that's the case, PP21 needs longer cleats. The grass looks very wet

How about why is the effen dome open. Don't you want to trap in the noise?

Doesn't work that way. Seattle has an open roof stadium and is the loudest. ;)

I think it has to do with moving training camp from Flag.

It was crap early in the season and we've just never had the nice thick grass we've had in previous years.

It seemed like once they finally got it growing again they kept it extra short.

Personally I hope they don't practice on the actual field much next training camp.

The bubble will be used next training camp.

Oh wonderful. All the time? How often? The injury potential is much greater if they practice on that plastic crap too much.

Not sure, but it will be interesting to see since practices are supposed to be open to the public.

I guess it didn't have time to grow thick and lush like it has been in previous years. I'd rather have this then what it was early in the season, but even though it was better, it was still poorer then it should be, and holding training camp on the field I believe set all this into motion. Can't be too mad as it was a unique situation, and perhaps they thought it would hold up better.

From the field perspective, it's good that we'll be using the bubble next year, but I'm also fearful for the injuries that might happen due to most likely some sort of turf inside it.

Everyone does realize there is a bubble in Tempe now and it was used this season without injury and there was field turf that was used a lot in the stadium during TC. The turf that is used now is much better and you never hear about turf related injures now.

They used a partial field turf in training camp at U of P? I am trying to recall any reporting of that and don't quite recall it but my my memory is fuzzy on this.

I wouldn't say never as far as turf related injuries. How do we know that a certain percentage of concussions are due to a players head bouncing like a basketball off of the field turf...ala Kurt Warner in the Superdome in New Orleans?

I would rather land on grass than field turf any day of the week. It would almost always seem to be a softer landing more often than not or so it would seem IMHO.

PP wasn't the only one slip-sliding around out there today, lots of other players were too. I suspect there is a level of fear about increasing cleat size, that you could wind up locking in the turf and blowing out a knee or ankle.

The field was in really good shape all year, especially towards the end of the season, when it typically looks a bit tired. Today it looked like all-new sod, perhaps in prep for the Fiesta Bowl. But why so slippery? Hard to understand.

They put in new sod so they could have this game and not tear it up before the Fiesta Bowl. It clearly did not have enough time to settle, and the Cards players didn't change cleats (especially PP).

this was the longest break in the season to do it and still wasnt enough time. 2 weeks is not enough for grass to root properly. They debated doing it at the beginning with less time and did not do it.
