West Virginia Director of Athletics Wren Baker took to social media after the Mountaineers were the first team out of the 2025 NCAA Tournament.

"I can't comprehend this team being left out. Our resume was better than several teams in the field and it's a terrible travesty that we weren't included," Baker said in a social media post.

Baker then in the post had a graphic touting several of WVU's metrics this season, which included six Quad 1 victories, more than North Carolina, San Diego State, and Xavier, combined, three teams who all made the NCAA Tournament field.

The Mountaineers finish the 2025 season at 19-13, 6-10 in Quad 1 games, and 51st in the NET Rankings.

Heartbroken for @WVUhoops. I can’t comprehend this team being left out. Our resume was better than several teams in the field and it’s a terrible travesty that we weren’t included. I have so much appreciation for @Coach_DeVries, our coaching staff and players. They deserved… pic.twitter.com/SDOemgXeZ0
