What the hey now?
From Pro Football Weekly's "the Way We Hear It", which is usually a solid, reputable source of information (unlike profootballtalk, which I won't even dignify with the proper capitalization or spacing) offered this tidbit when talking about Miami and newly signed corner back Eric Green:
It won't be easy being Green in Miami
In signing a Super Bowl participant who was extensively used in the Cardinals’ run to the NFC championship, there was an assumption by many in Miami that CB Eric Green would be immediately thrust into the Dolphins’ starting lineup. Yet the situation isn’t nearly so cut-and-dried. We’re hearing that Green and Jason Allen will be engaged in a heated battle for the CB spot opposite Will Allen and that, if anything, the coaches are pulling for Jason Allen to take ownership of the spot. Although Green is the more seasoned, experienced and polished of the duo, he lacks Allen’s unique combination of size and speed that would render him a tremendous asset if the light ever came on. The problem is that Allen has never been on top of the playbook, which is partially the fault of his coaches for shifting him between safety and cornerback.
... 'kay.
To which use is the article "extensively" referring?
Was he extensively sliding down the depth chart early in the season, only to see the field in quarter defense?
Or was he used extensively on special teams before losing both a defensive and special teams spot?
Was he used extensively on the inactive list after failing that?

It drives me nuts when "experts" don't even take the time to do research before they write.

Sounds like Jason Allen will be the #2 CB in Miami

Did he even ever play again after falling down and faking an injury? Which incidently resulted in a TD for the opposition.

Big BQ!
At least he and his arm tackle efforts are in Miami and his replacement for Whizz is Bryant McFadden! Yes!

I think they meant to say extensively abused.

Extensively used by WRs. Actually, I like Eric Green. I believe he was a good teammate and put forth a lot of effort. Unfortunately, he had a knack for not finding the football no matter where it was. (including on the ground in the End Zone on Mon night two years ago-I doubt Coach ever forgot letting his first game slip away) Brown had more INTs last year than Green has in his career, right?

It was a typo..... they intened to write "Often Abused by opposing WRs".

For what it's worth, I will miss him feigning injury whenever he was horribly burnt. Good times.

LOL! I remember that play! He dropped like he was shot by a sniper in the stands!

I remember looking at him laying there like he was dead thinking, "oh man, his knee is gone..." only to see him up and running the next play.

Good times, indeed!
