Rise Up Red Sea!
Hi Guys,
I searched like crazy trying to find someone with this issue, and it appears I'm the only one having this problem with my TV, this is the only place I can think of where someone might know the answer.
I have a Vizio VW47LF 47" LCD TV. I have the Cox DVR hooked up to HDMI port #1 and the XBox 360 hooked up to HDMI #2. The Cox box works flawlessly all the time. Never an issue with anything ever.
The XBox however will occasionally just drop all audio at apparently random times. I used to have the console hooked up via Component Video Cables and there was no issue. Now, when the sound cuts out, if I turn off the TV and turn it back on, I get a message on the screen that says "Synchronizing device..." and after a few seconds everything comes up back to normal.
So I guess the question is, do LCD's have some kind of setting I don't know about to sync them to a device like a gaming console? I have looked on TV as well as XBox forums, and I only found one other user having this issue, no one answered his thread. Normally, I would just say screw it and leave it component, but I use the XBox DVD Player to upscale my standard DVD's to 1080p and for some reason it can't upscale unless it's via DVI.
I have tried a different HDMI port as well, and so far no luck. I'm going to try swapping the cable, but I have used this cable before on my DVR and I know it's good. I'm just baffled here, I'll take any suggestion I can get. Is it possible that my TV just doesn't work with the console HDMI? Sometimes I can play for hours and it never happens, sometimes it takes minutes, there doesn't seem to be a pattern. It's happened on different games as well.
Thanks in advance for any help.
