Don't players contracts have something in them about getting injured while doing certain things like riding a motorcycle and perhaps even playing pickup basketball or football?

If a player got injured while playing for the CFL he sure would not be covered under the insurance provided by the NFL and would be at great risk of not ever being able to play in the NFL again if he was seriously injured. I do not see many of the guys making over a million dollars and on 3 or more years contracts risking all that playing some other sport or some other football league.

I could see a more likely scenario of the teams using non union players or players who would cross the picket lines than the above scenario. I would gladly watch substitute players. It would be interestingg and some would have a chance to be signed to full time contracts. Some teams might even be better with new guys. I would bet that just out of curiosity there would be 20,000 fans or more to come to a game just out ofcuriosityy.

Come on and bring it on.

I don't see many high contract players doing it, because an injury in the CFL could really kill their pocket book when the NFL gets going again, but I think it would be a great idea for the low-end salary guys.

I'm 99% sure that most players have it written in their contracts that they can't play competitively in a different league.

Are they still really under contract?

I don't think that matters with the current state of the CBA.

I wonder how valid their contracts are when the employer is keeping said employee from working.

The reason it matters is because if they violate the contract they signed then they're no longer barganing collectively, they're off on their own.

This would never happen...nothing more than a threat. Nobody wants to play in the UFL or CFL. These guys have plenty of money and the NFL will be ready for the regular season.

I did hear something about Ocho trying out for a soccer team? LOL

Why wouldn't they be under contract? The exsistence of a Union doesn't validate or void their contracts. The Union negotiates the terms and conditions of their employment not their service argeements and salaries.
