Pray tell, how? I have heard Shaq called many things but that has to be the most inaccurate adjective to describe him.it is one thing if he didn't win any championship. Yeah, maybe he could have won more, but what makes you think if it were back in the days when the bigs rule the court and the game was much more physical, Shaq wouldn't have won more than any other big man. I wont be surprised if you are among those that wrote him off that he can never win another ring again after he left your boy Kobe..well the rest is history.

You claim organizations helped him but you forget it is a symbiotic relationship, more beneficial for the organizations whom seats he filled and tons merchandise sold.Lets assume philanthropy was forced on him by his organization. No one can deny the fact that he is a nice dude and a big tipper, you cant fake generosity.

Hate him or Love him, He is a future hall of famer, better get used to see him because his name will continue to resonate in the basketball world after you and i are long gone.

No doubt he is a future HOF member. No doubt he fills the seats and has been good for organizations. I am not disputing both his good traits or his childish antics.

What I meant by underachiever is as I have always said, he could have gone down as the best center of ALL time and he doesnt even crack the top 5. He could have won 6 to 8 championships and will most likely end with 4. He has habitually showed up at camp out of shape and coasted thru the season. He never bothered (slight exception this year) to improve on his free throws. It is no secret that Shaq lacked the work ethic and drive that many of the greats have or had. A lot of this can be attributed to his ovewhelming size allowing him to dominate. Again, if he had the work ethic of a Russel, Jordan, Magic, Bird, Kobe, etc he would have accomplished much more and gone down as the greatest of all time. He doesn't and didn't... and IMO.... that's underachievment.

Regardless of his immature attitude and childish nature. Toss aside all the dissing of teamates and organizations that gave him the opportunity to be so charitable and have such a great life.

As a basketball player... He is a monumental underachiever.

the "opportunity to be so charitable..." goes both ways. you can't really say the franchises he played with didn't live off of him either.

as for a monumental underachiever, while that is true, he still has come this far. had he taken care of his body better he could have garnered better results (but as far as skillset is concerned, i personally wouldn't want him to learn jumpshots. it's his basketbrawl that made him great)

Shaq's always been like this.

When he leaves the Suns, expect him to talk trash about his ex-team mates. As usual. He's an entertainer and a good charitable person all in all, but as a basketball player it comes with the package... "Star big man with bigger ego"

Second rate human being.

I was a Shaq fan until I noticed his disturbing trend of throwing everyone under the bus everytime he left a team.

Try not to be absurd.

O'Neal gives willingly of his time and money to all kinds of charitable organizations and youth groups and you call him a "second rate human being" because he complains (warranted or not) about his employers or co-workers?

Until you can draw from a greater sample of reportage than just what the sporting news pundits and butt-hurt Laker fans can supply you with, you'll have a hard time convincing reasonable people that you have any idea what kind of human being Shaquille O'Neal really is.

Shaq has been consistent the past 15 years. He is who he is, love him or hate him.

I think he is shaqtastic personally.
