The Yankees’ struggling bullpen took some more hits on Tuesday, as Tommy Kahnle was placed on the 10-day disabled list with right shoulder tendinitis and then his replacement on the roster, Luis Cessa, suffered a strained oblique in the middle of his appearance in a 9-1 loss to Miami. Kahnle’s velocity has been down throughout the early part of the regular season, although the right-hander hadn’t complained of any physical issues. Aaron Boone said Tuesday that bullpen coach Mike Harkey noticed Kahnle having difficulty warming up recently, which led to an MRI exam. “We’re hoping this is something we can knock out with a few days of rest, but that will unfold over the next 24 hours and days ahead,’’
