ESPN confirmed Hubbarth’s departure during the April 16, 2025 broadcast of the Eastern Conference play-in game between the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat. The network announced it as her final telecast.

According to Andrew Marchand of The Athletic, Hubbarth will join Amazon Prime Video next season as its No. 1 NBA sideline reporter (via Awful Announcing). She will work with Ian Eagle on Amazon’s lead NBA crew. The platform will air NBA games under a new multi-year deal, including six Conference Finals over 11 years.

How ESPN pays tribute to Cassidy Hubbarth​

At the end of the April 16 broadcast, ESPN anchors Mike Breen, Doris Burke, and Richard Jefferson paid tribute to Hubbarth live on air. “Tonight is the final telecast for our Cassidy Hubbarth. 15 years she’s been with us, and next year she’ll be part of Amazon’s package,” said Breen. Burke added, “You are a star among stars, Cass,” and Jefferson called her “an unbelievable friend” and “ultimate teammate” (via The Spun).

Hubbarth responded on air, “I love you guys. ESPN has allowed me to grow, nurtured my career in so many beautiful ways… from 2010 and NBA Tonight to being with the A team here tonight.” ESPN aired her reaction live, showing her holding back tears during the tribute.
