I just don’t get the Cutler pick for AZ. It goes against everything that DG has said and done. He preaches BPA and few would say that Cutler is that, strike 1. He also likes players that come from winning programs, strike 2. He likes to take chances on players that are dropping not rising on the draft boards, strike 3.

He might be a great QB prospect but it just does not look like a DG pick to me.

And I still don't like Mario Williams at #2, or TE Vernon to San Fran.

Just throwing in my two cents.

Scott Wrights stuff is always really good.

I'm not a fan of Jay Cutler. But the pick atleast makes sense on some level so you can't really fault Scott for it.

Daniel Bullocks in the 2nd would be fantastic.

There is no doubt that Kurt Warner did a respectable job last year and resurrected his career to a degree but the fact remains that he isn't getting any younger and with Josh McCown leaving as a free agent the need to bring in a quarterback of the future is all that much more glaring. Every year we see a player who makes a major surge up draft boards after the season ends and there is no question that Cutler is that guy this time around. Teams and scouts have fallen in love with Cutler's size, arm, mobility and intangibles and even though he received very little in the way of national media exposure while playing for perennial loser Vandy and never even led his team to a bowl game there is a chance he could go as high as #4 overall. Personally I think that this is a reach and while I like him I certainly did not see a Top 10 overall pick throughout the week down in Mobile at the Senior Bowl practices. In fact I compare him favorably to J.P. Losman, which is not necessarily a bad thing because I haven't written him off in Buffalo yet, but Losman was the 22nd overall pick in round one, not #10. Arizona could also use a top safety in their secondary, a premier tight end like Vernon Davis would have to interest them and with their horrible offensive line you could make a case for a guy like Winston Justice but they probably can't afford to pass on a signal caller considering their backup right now is John Navarre. This is actually a good situation for Cutler as he will be able to sit and learn for a couple of years and smooth out his mechanics rather than being thrown into the fire as a starter from the start.

There is no argument what so ever for Cutler. The guy is a bad idea, but everyone seems to be brainwashed into assuming that the guy is a Top 10 pick. I just don't get it. I hope he gets invited to the draft and gets Aaron Roger-d all day.

I hope we don't pass on Marcus McNeill in the second round for Bullocks (though Section 11 would be happy if we did).

I'd agree with McNeil, he's been the tackle I'd thought we'd have a realistic shot at.
And because of Denny's previous draft, I'm starting to like them Auburn fellas.

At last the truth is revealed. You don't just dislike him as a prospect; you utterly hate the guy. What did he do, sleep with your wife or something? I mean, I don't wish a guy to have the kind of awful, gut-wrenching day that Rogers had unless I well and truly despise the guy. Why do you hate Cutler so badly?

Because he's all hype. I thought that Aaron Rogers was funny and handled it classily. He's still going to make $5 million dollars before taking his first hit, so I don't really get what the big deal is.

By the way, I guess that maybe Cutler's a little overrated. Back to #15 on Kiper's Big Board. #12 on Scouts Inc.'s Top 32. I guess maybe he's not the best quarterback in the draft after all, and there were just a lot of personnel people jerking Chris Mortenson's chain.

But you would know that if you'd ever seen the kid play before, wouldn't you, Stout? It's very rare that I hate what a player's about, but nothing will turn me off a player like stupid people jocking them when they don't know what they're talking about.

Ah, and here I was, all ready to give you kudos for a good, solid post, and say 'you know, you have a bit of a point, even though I disagree'. Then I read the last paragraph, and realize nothing has changed. I know just as much as you do, so...nope, won't descend to your level. Suffice to say, you're not acting appropriately.

k9, Rodger's falling is nothing comapred to the fact that te 49ers drafted a qb with hands so small that he can't hold onto an NFL sized ball.

Maybe he'll make a primo strong safety oneday,

Well, that's just counter-factual, isn't it? I've seen Jay Cutler actually play real live football against real live defenses. You've admitted you haven't. I guess that I might know more than you, huh?

Nope, not one bit. Because much, much smarter football minds than yours have watched him play too, and some of their opinions run counter to yours. Ergo, by reading the reports of actual experts instead of message-board heroes, I can easily know just as much about the kid as you do.

By the way, I never saw Richard Burbage act either, but I can certainly tell from contemporary reports that he was one helluvan actor.

Mike Mayock has Cutler as his #1 QB prospect and, contrary to what some on this board may think, Mayock is a knowledgable and respected talent evaluator for NFL Network.

what does it matter. jay cutler and vince young are going in the top 15 anyway. i prefer jay cutler over vince young just because i feel that young will be a bust. it is all good. who ever the cardinals draft i will support them and hope that they will contribute to the cardinals. that the bottom line any way.

I hate that mock.I hope he's not even close to being right. Huff,Davis, Young, Justice, can't all be gone by 10 can they? That would be the worst case scenario for the Cards because i also can't see DG picking Cutler. He would take Young because of the possible upside but Cutler,to me, doesn't bring much to the table.
