I decided to be the Cardinal GM after all the picks were selected. If the Cardinals made no trades and I was given the task of doing the draft here would have been our draft class:

Round 1-Adrain Peterson RB Oklahoma (selected Rd. 1 Minnesota)
Round 2-Tony Ugoh LOT Arkansas (selected Rd. 2 Indianapolis)
Round 3-Stewart Bradley OLB Nebraska (selected Rd. 3 Philadelphia)
Round 4-Paul Soliai DT Utah (selected Rd. 4 Miami)
Round 5-Tim Shaw OLB Penn State (selected Rd. 5 Carolina)
Round 7-Kenny Scott CB Georgia Tech (currently still available)

Is that better than Brown, Branch, Davis, Breaston, and Patrick?

Give your picks based on who was on the board when the Cardinals were picking. Also, what will the "need" pick be in April 2008. I can hear the call for a pass rushing DE/OLB and cover corner come next year.

was this done real time, or after the draft?

doing a draft after the real one gives you a huge advantage -- you know who will be available when.

For example-- you know Ugoh (the last of the upper tier tackles) would be available in the 2nd round --

whereas in real time, in passing on a tackle in round 1, you cant be guaranteed that there wont be a run on tackles before your 2nd round pick.

I agree with En Fuego. Drafting Ugoh or even Blalock after the fact in round 2 is not fair.

Why? I felt before the draft that if the Cards didn't select an OT in either Round 1 or 2, the 2007 season would basicly be lost.

With that fact in mind, drafting a non-OT in round 1 becomes a huge risk. If Staley and Ugoh are gone near the end of round 1, the draft is lost. Who cares if they got AP when there is no one to block for him. The Cards would end up writting off this season and trying to find a OT in free agency in 2008 and ony then finally getting their value from AP.

So, if you really want to play GM, to choose AP, you must go back in time and choose to spend the money and still have L.Davis on the team. Otherwise you can't play after the fact GM.

Let's just wait around and see how good AP is. If he's a stud, then you are correct. If he's not, then the Graves is correct. Forget the other players as you have an unfair advantage.
