But without Warner, this team would still be fighting for 8-8 as a successful season the last few years.

3 fricking points????
Matt's not even playing as bad as I thought he would.. he just can't seem to sustain a drive.

He's playing the same way he plays when he's handed a 21 point lead.. playing not to lose, as opposed to playing to win.

The way he played on that last drive is why we drafted him. Hopefully he can keep it up!

Its more of the guy calling or in this case NOT calling the plays where they can be successful, I mean if we play called the way we did in the second half the whole game I think we could have scored more and won the game. It is what it is a tough road loss not the end of the world.

So Cal - you and Campos hate Matt. We get it.

He looked good in the second half and I am happy that he bounced back. Here is some national feedback since no one wants to believe it.

http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcwest/post/_/id/9980/wrap-up-titans-20-cardinals-17

And heres another.....

For Matt Leinart's confidence and credibility as the Cardinals' quarterback, there might not be anything like a nine-play, 80-yard touchdown drive in the third quarter of a road game against a hot team.

Arizona has a 17-13 lead against the Titans after the most impressive drive of the season for Leinart and possibly the Cardinals.

Tim Hightower's 6-yard touchdown run followed some clutch passing by Leinart. Leinart found Anquan Boldin for 24 yards and Beanie Wells for 21 yards before Hightower ran for gains of 7 and 6 yards to finish the drive.

The Cardinals are looking like a tough team coming of age here. They have a chance to go 6-0 on the road this season.

Let's see if Leinart can close the deal.

They may hate him. But on the same token you equally LOVE him to much the other way. He gave some glimpses today of good play and it was good to see. I hope he continues in that direction. But as of right now he still nothing but an over hyped college player until he proves otherwise. He has a long road to hold.

The major problem is that the Cardinal offense in the 1st half was too conservative. Whiz did not allow Leinert to throw the ball when the Titans had 8 in the box on 1st down. We still have to use the pass to set up the run.

The nonholding calls all day was extremely blatant, especially on the Titans last drive. Mawae holds on every play. Stewart also is a holding machine. Is there a reason that the Titans only had 7 sacks going into todays game?

The inconsistancy in the officiating is just disgusting!

Hopefull this will enlighten Whis to let his QB sling it. The game is no longer "play defense and run the ball" since it's now become a passing league. Apparently he still doesn't trust Matt enough.

But, in the end, it was the defense that let Titans get off a 99 play drive and convert 4th downs at will. :bang:

Listen broI was pissed last week with the performance against the Rams.

But this week he was accurate, made throws when he had too, and overall played well. Go look at the TOP. He worked well with what he had to work with. Not to mention he found out only before the game he was playing and against the hottest team in the NFL on the road.

I am done saying anything one way or the other definitively about the future of Matt. I am taking it one game at a time.

But anyone who doesn't say this was a big time step in the right direction either didn't watch the game or has unrealistic expectations.

Unrealistic? I have seen better games than this from Matt and yet he still regressed after the fact. This game isnt a sign of anything other than he can be a game manager maybe. Nothing more or less.

Matt understandably started out rusty, but ended up playing solid football and had a damn good game. The announcers were all over his jock for how well he played, and yet the haters will hate. He did a solid job and we should be tipping our cap to him. No, I am not crowning him as our QBOF yet, but this game should shut all those flapping gums that were blabbering last weekend.

Sorry, I meant that in a nice way. That could be considered by a few to be directed at them. It's not...well, it is, but I'm saying it with a smile :)

A nine play 80 yard drive to give his team the lead in the 4th quarter. What more do you want from a QB. Its not his fault the D stinks and so the Cards need a 35 point lead in the 4th quarter to win.

What we all need to grasp is this, Leinart will not and cannot run this offense as well as Warner. Why? Because of experience.

How many plays that Whiz called would have been audibled out if Warner were playing. Nobody can expect Leinart to have the same capability as Warner. Nor can we expect the chemistry to be the same with the receivers. That will all be a growing process. Sunday the process grew a little in the right direction.
Not as much as we would all like it, and not as bad as many thought.
