Anytime you can add a big man like a Shaq, or even a Gasol... it takes tremendous pressure off the other 4 guys on the floor. Both offensively and defensively.

PHX needed help on the inside. They didn't need Shawn Marion sitting in the corner chucking 3's at a 28% clip (or whatever it is). The rebounds will now go to Amare and Shaq. Yes, they'll miss his "activeness" on the D end... but make up for it with Shaq clogging the paint.

PHX's chemistry was not right, despite their record. Anybody watching the games could see it. Perhaps this will give them that extra step that seemed to be missing.
