Plot Summary: Based on the novel by German author Daniel Kehlmann. The story is told from the point of view of a screenwriter who holes up in a remote house in the Alps with his wife and daughter so he can work on a sequel to his big hit. The sequel is titled Marriage. There are glimmers of Stephen King’s "The Shining" throughout the course of the book, in which we see the writer slowly begin to descend into madness when unexplained happenings start to chip away at his sanity. All of this is delivered in a diary-like format, forcing the reader to experience the first-person descent into madness throughout the course of the novel.
