Shawn if you want the respect, tonight is the chance to go out and get it. It could very well be one of those legacy making games for you. Make it count.

shawn may not fill up the points column. but keep in mind he does so many other things. what player can be told to guard a guard, then switch to a forward. he's the best defender out there, keep in mind good offense will always beat good defense.
on paper, not the "best" game for him, but he gots it where it counts.

I agree 100%. I feel that Marion has finally got the "playoff bust" tag off his back but now it's his time to make a statement. I love the guy to death but for all the crap he's said to the media about not being respected, well now's his time to earn it. We all know he can dominate on both sides of the court, tonight would be a perfect time to do that

That may be okay for the rest of the series, but tonight he needs to step up and be the man. He wants it, now is his chance to go and get it.

Agreed, except for dumping it all on Marion. Tonight they all need to "step it up and be the MEN" -- and that includes LB breaking out of his funk, Raja gearing it up to High, JJ coming through with the D, and KT bothering Duncan into frustration. Tonight the bench will get a prime opportunity to prove themselves as players. No worries about Nash being focused and aggressive -- he should be out for blood (figuratively speaking, of course).

First person I thought about when I heard the news was Marion. I'm willing to bet he's going to step up tonite.

Yes it's an opportunity but Marion is going to be a focus tonight. Even players that want to be the man need help. I don't think the Suns have enough of that.

if Shawn Marion can give us an encore of his performance in last year's Conference Semi's Game 5 and leads us to a win, I will NEVER say a bad word about him ever again.

The power of DB compels you! The power of DB compels you!

The reason to "dump this all on Marion" is because of his perception of the lack of respect/visibility that he gets. Yes, it is going to take everyone to get it done, but if Marion wants real respect, the type that he craves, tonight is the time to go and get it

Tonight of all nights, we don't need any showboating, steal-the-spotlight, be-the-man game from anyone. That won't get it done. Tonight is the night for Marion and the rest of the Suns to do what's been successful for them all year, unselfish play with balanced scoring and a real team effort.

Marion already gets "real respect" -- most important, from his coach and teammates -- and from the majority of Suns fans not on this board.

If I were coach D, I would tell Barbosa his family had been kidnapped in Brazil 5 mins before tip off and the only demands the captors are asking for is that he score 30 points.

You are a disgrace sometimes Slin, and a extremely narrow minded Suns fan.

Marion was superb in the 1st half. He played great D the entire game! KT was the main player on the pick and roll in the 2nd half. Marion hardly got the ball, but you can't call it a Houdini act! He was out there playing tough D, running to double, knocking loose balls.

You want a houdini act you look at Barbosa and Bell (in the 1st half!)

Quit ripping Shawn. He stepped up in the absence of Diaw and Stoudemire!

Shawn played his heart out as did nash and kurt, the rest of the team pulled the houdini. Like Raja who barely made any shots and let flopper go off!

i agree. After this latest post by Slin and him calling out ther Spurs fan who said who said he abandoned his team after their thuggish behavior, it just stamps how out there slin really is. Shawn was a man tonight and the offense in the second half completely went away from him. 24 and 17 and he's getting ripped? Give me a break. He's the ONLY reason the game was as close as it was.

The problem was that Marion wasn't getting the ball enough in the second half. Pretty much simple as that.
