The highest rated RB in most draft books fell to them at 31, so that in itself is an A+

B+. Can't give an A with the concerns about the durability of Chris Wells. IF he stays healthy and works hard to prove about 25 teams wrong, it obviously turns into an A. I was surprised that all 3 of my targets, Alex Mack, Larry English, and Donald Brown were off the board.

The Cards just landed a legitimate feature back, someone who will someday deserve 20+ carries a game. He's built to run between the tackles and hits top speed in step 2. He has unbelievable feet and balance, not just for a big man, but for any back.

The ONLY reason he didn't go among the first 10 was his history of nagging injuries, a judgment passed over a very brief period of time, and not the type of injury that you would expect to reoccur over the course of a career.

I'd say the Cards hit a home run with their first pick. They weren't just filling a need. They drafted the best player available (and then some).

A freaking plus.

Beanie Wells...ok...so he has the injury concerns. I admit, I worry about that a lot...but I also downgraded one adrian peterson because of college injury concerns. From a pure talent perspective, Beanie is a STUD. We got him late...we should rejoice.

Brown, from everything I hear, has a wicked first step. That's all I need to know about a DE/OLB kind of guy...everything else can be taught, but the first step can't. I'm happy there.

And Boldin is still a Card.

So A++

Brown's highlights look like he's incredibly explosive. I like it.

I'm going to say A-, which can be moved up to an A+ if the Cards can now take the money saved on James and somehow get Boldin extended and happy.

If we do this , it's not going out on a limb to say we have the BEST offense in the NFC and maybe in the NFL.

B.

We needed a big play threat at RB and I am not sure that we got one. However, I have backed off the ledge and will admit that we took the best player on the board at the time. I think that he is soft and he will not be the big play play threat that we ultimately needed. What he will be is the best running back on our team though.

I really like Cody Brown as he reminds me of James Harrison of the Steelers. Great burst, a little short, but stocky and plays with leverage. An explosive player for a position at needs it. Also doesn't come with much baggage.

Didn't we get Wells at about the same position we took Leland McElroy? Beanie will sure beat the hell out of that pick
