What's your favorite live album/compilation of all-time? It doesnt necessarily have to be a concert, but could be on t.v. programs such as "Unplugged", "VH1 Storytellers"...etc, or even live radio broadcasts (such as the BBC series)....

Here's 5 of my favorites to begin and not in any particular order...

1) "Live At The Isle of Wright" - The Who
2) "Get Yer Ya-Yas Out" - Rolling Stones
3) "Live At BBC" - The Beatles
4) "Blow Your Face Out" - J Geils Band
5) "Unplugged" Alice-in-Chains

So, what are your faves? Could even include just DVD concert performances..

Edit: Can even include bootleg concerts that you've somehow managed to obtain as well....

I think the only live CDs I own are Dropkick Murphys "Live on St. Patrick's Day" and Nirvana "Unplugged".

Pearl Jam has a bunch of great live albums--the best is probably the last Seattle show a couple years ago--it was a 3 disc album.

Did you happen to purchase any (if all) those concert C.D.s they released between '00-'01 (forgot exactly how many) that they were forced into to "ward off" bootleggers?

I only remember about them because of the girl who was living w/me at the time was a MAJOR fan of theirs and wanted to collect all of them......

Best guitar DVD ever. Satch, Hamm, and co. were just ON that night.

What I really loved about that album is how Satch doesnt have such a big ego and respects what an equal virtuoso that Hamm is on his respective instrument... I just enjoyed how Satch allowed Stu to have his own moments in the spotlight and he certainly "Stewed them over" pretty well all throughout that entire performance... I loved "Bass Solo" which is such a classic song and even Satch's vocals live arent too bad either....

I also enjoy the extended-into to "Summer Song" and "Surfing With the Alien" sound just as good live than on album... I mean.. he expands off of the studio recordings well.. doesnt just sit there and duplicates every single detail.. that just proves his genius even further.....

I would also have to add any of Steve Vai's live recordings that I've heard to the list as well....
