I haven't been able to watch much this pre-season, and am currently watching the Chargers game (which I know we lost by 2). We're 0-3, but it means nothing (much).....unless there's something not working for us that needs to be fixed. Secondary problems? Running game ineffective? Pass coverage invisible?

Pass coverage abysmal. O line surprisingly decent to good. Running game we don't know yet because Edge won't really play until it counts. JJ looks better though.

Defense is looking bad, but should look better in the regular season once they bring blitzes and scheming. How much better is the million dollar question.

I like the O. Gandy has proven me wrong so far, and Brown is on a faster learning curve then I thought as well.

I dont like the D, they look really slow. Dont think scheme can fix not having the horses.

I really like Breaston the way he carries the ball needs to be fixed though.

Surprisingly a lot of penalties for a Wiz and Grimm team. Thats got to change and I think it will.

Rackers is booming them again.

Thems the cliff notes.

pretty much agree with one more addition. Leinart looks like a QB, a real, honest to God QB of the future. More than anything, that makes this team imminently (eminently?) more watchable than any other team since 1998!

Here is my summary of the pre-season:

Leinart: Looks like he will be better

RB's: Shipp and Arrington look better and Edge will be just fine.

WR's: Boldin Super Stud, Fitz, looks good, but every pass thrown to him requires him to jump (he is gonna get lit one of these days). BJ: Seems to be improving but still drops the easy ones.

O-Line: Looks better already, but still very worrisome.

Rolle: Sucks.

Player: Has no Hang time.

Intererior Pass Defense: The same weak, swiss cheese as the past few years.

Interior Run Defense: Getting boled over as usual.

Pass Rush: Not looking good.

Wilson: Super Stud

CB's: Still bend, but dont break...

Special teams: average at best.

That's not true at all.

We are only giving up 3.7 YPC. Which is very good considering that we are top 5 when it comes to rushing attempts.

Agreed. It is the only aspect of the defense that I've been happy with.

I also thought the run D has looked pretty solid. The lack of a pass rush from the front four and the secondary getting burnt on 3rd and long is a concern. On the same token though I have not seen our QB's getting much pressure and able to burn the other teams secondary. This may mean it is a lack of scheming that causes this. I guess we will all know in a little over a week.

BTW I also hope Player gets the boot. I hate to see the lack of effort on the punt that was run back against us during the Houston game. He did not even make an attempt to stop him from scoring.

Think Cincinati Bengals.

Our offense is looking good, and our defense.....eh, not so much.

Cheese has it right, tho. The team is watchable.

We have OLB, CB, and FS issues with our OLB being a huge issue.

Fitz, looks good, but every pass thrown to him requires him to jump

That's because Fitz never gets any separation from the defenders. You can't see what's going on during most of his routes from the replays but everytime I see him catch or attempt to catch a pass he is tightly covered.

That Leinart has learned to go ahead and throw the jump ball to Fitz in those situations is one of the big changes I've seen in our QB from last season.

Agree with most if not all of the above. I will only add that Alan Branch has not shown me what I expected up to this point. I do hope he improves, sooner rather than later.

I'm not gonna cut him much slack and the reason I'm not is because he was expensive and he has a questionable rep from his college days. I'm gonna give him till near the end of the season and by then he better be making some plays consistently. The sum we payed for him was too much for my liking.

The Southern drawl is catching. I lived in KY. for about 6 months and had to start talking like the locals or they'd have run me out of town.:D
