Carlos Zambrano was as animated as he was good, helping Chicago to a 7-6 win over the San Diego Padres on Monday night, the Cubs' eighth straight win. Zambrano (8-1) allowed three runs in the first inning before settling down. He legged out three hits to tie his career-high and raise his average to .366.
