At least we know how loud that stadium is capable of being. Listening to this game on TV just blows away any Cards game I have ever heard on TV.

If we had an "I'm with Stupid and Assface" smiley, I'd use it now.

It's well-known in my family (including my wife's family) how obsessed I am with that stadium. My wife and I have our own company - Ethx Technology Group - and my wife and I joke about buying the naming rights to the place someday. We call it "Ethx Field at Cardinals Stadium".

We'll see if we can buy the naming rights from under the University of Phoenix...with the $5.00 we have to spend on it...

This raises the question:

With the teams splitting a % of seats and most of the rest of the seats going to high rollers instead of fans of the participating teams why would the noise level be that high? Piped it in for TV?

We've all seen how the swells act at games and making noise isn't one of the things you would attribute to them. In fact it is the #1 complaint I see on this board that the wealthy don't normally stand and make noise.

Did they let the throw down crowd that was there to surround the stage and Tom Petty at half time stick around to make noise in the second half?

It was pretty damned loud in the 1st half too.

I gotta think that the fans who were there were really pumped up and maybe that's why it was so loud. I know I am loud at Cards games, and, while I doubt I could be louder for a game like the Super Bowl, I suppose it is possible.

I don't disagree, but the fact remains that some people just don't get loud. The guys who sit next to me during Cards games rarely to never yell. Not sure why. Not sure if they'd even yell if the Cards were in the Super Bowl. Kinda makes me wonder why they come at all, lol.

And that's my point. How can the Super Bowl be loud at all with so many of the seats going to the same kind of people who don't make noise at Cardinal games?
Maybe they make noise because of the nature of the game but:

I think it's just TV turning up the volume. I do know that the quality of the TV picture and replays was far better than what we get for a Cardinal home game.

I'm sure the TV production played some role in it. How large? I can't say without being there.

Then why does TV only turn up the volume during televised Seahawks games? Sorry Duck Im not buying it. Everytime I watch a game played in Seattles stadium that doesnt Garner national attention it sounds like today. Turn it around and everytime I watch a game in AZ on TV that doesnt garner national attention it sounds like 1/4 of today.

There's defnitely more cameras and coverage for the Super Bowl. I would guess that also means more microphones which would mean more crowd noise to the viewers.
