The Chiefs homerism is never ending. What have the Chiefs done?

Signed a Niners backup tackle to start. Signed a backup running back, and added Minshew as a backup QB. How's that an A-?
Do you happen to remember they’ve been in the Super Bowl what seems like 14 out of the last 15 years.
What a bum organization they are.

There seem to be some premature victory laps being taken in Monti's honor right now. I like the Sweat and Tomlinson signings, but it's not like we just signed Chris Jones and Micah Parsons. Or made any improvements to the interior of the offensive line. Or added speed at receiver. We signed a guy who has averaged a little over 6 sacks per year for his career and a DT who plays 60% of the snaps.

Again, I like the signings, and they should make the team better, but maybe it's not the time to call people out for being disappointed in what is supposed to be a very aggressive offseason for Monti.
Wow, were those guys available; I missed it!

People always assume that Monti successfully executes on his offseason plans. What if he just isn't good at closing deals?
This is what I keep saying. Being a good GM isn’t just having a great plan. It’s having a great plan and being capable of executing on it. Lots of posters like to dismiss failures to sign targets as “well they didn’t want to be here.” But that’s literally part of monti’s job - finding the levers to convince them to come.

Nah, that would be a professional gig and a different animal. It would offer a lot of talking points. Also, why would you be fired? Good sports talk radio rips bad home teams all the time. The Stillers have been getting CRUSHED around here.
Arizona fans don’t know how savage the press can be in old school big time sports towns like nyc, Boston, Philly, Chicago, Pittsburgh.

Okay, the sweat and Tomlinson signings allow me to be comfortable in a much wider array of draft day moves. Absent any substantial move at guard in free agency I could see them going oline/oline in first and second round to close out a young oline with depth. Even going top guard at 16 (which I typically loathe) and a high potential developmental right tackle in 2nd.

I would also be good with a top dt at 16. Make that line a wrecking crew.

I would be good with a top flight cb in the first as well.

I just don’t think I go receiver in either round. I don’t know that there’s a burner worthy of either of those slots.

ILB needs be addressed. But I just don’t think I can stomach it in the first two rounds after Bucanon, Reddick, Simmons, collins - and this is coming from likely the biggest ILB guy on ASFN. Maybe we can luck into a splash talent in 3rd.

Feeling much better than usual compared to the last two years heading into the draft. And that’s with much less/worse draft capital.

Interesting fact. A lot of interviews at the Combine were projected 2nd and 3rd round OL. Get ready to see Monti move around in the 2nd and 3rd to get the player he wants.

Would be very okay if he moves up a bit to secure one of the projected early 2nd round RTs and play them at G as rookie

More reason to keep drafting DT and edge, maybe even make a trade. They better not be done yet...

Shift the goalposts much?

All the talk here has been that Monti must improve the defensive front. So he adds the best Edge and one of the best DTs available and now it's "It's not like he added Micah Parsons and Chris Jones".

Just hilarious.

What a bum organization they are.

I mean, it's about what they did in the offseason, not how good they are overall.

Not when your song is exactly the same every offseason. Then it absolutely IS how good they are overall. You can call me a darksider, but us darksiders have historical precedent on our side.

Wut? What has any of this got to do with "How did the Chiefs get A- for signing 3 backups"?

We still have a big hole at RG.

Would be nice to have that filled and go into the draft looking for BPA.

He literally said he liked the signings but they’re not those top flight guys. Which they’re not. That’s a fact. Unless you want to argue otherwise. Are you saying sweat and Tomlinson are akin to parsons and jones?
