True, although the need/time of signing him last offseason was far more desperate than where we're at now. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have him here.
trust me, I know... looking for silver linings here!

I'm more excited about CC coming home than any of the other signings. Not saying he is the most talented fa we signed this offseason but having the big guy back is a positive on several levels.
Monti and JG are serious about stopping the run game.

Do you think it’s banks now? I still say I would throw a brick through my tv if we go golden…grant… Harmon…Williams .. Boston college kid or booker… the more boring Monti gets the more excited I get

Couple of comments....

1. Love the move of bringing Campbell back.

2. It add more depth to the DL and improves the position tremendously. He played 58% of the snaps last season. If that can be brought down to the 45-50% range, I'm certain he'll be an asset even at 39 YO.

3. It removes the pressure of being forced to draft DT in the first 2 rounds. I still expect DT in one of the first 3 rounds, but if the right player is there at another position, Monti is not forced to draft by need.

4. CC ranked 6th among DTs last season per pff. Getting him on a 1-year deal even at his age is a much smarter move than paying huge money for below average younger players. (See Kinlaw ranked #91 getting 30M garanteed)

I'd be thrilled with Banks. I would not be upset with Grant, CC is old and DT is only guaranteed for 2 years.
Slim pickings at WR so I would understand Golden or Burden but my default view is always trenches.
OG only if we trade back into the mid to late 20s.
It's fun watching Monti ball coming together this offseason.

The fandom on this board for washed players that stayed here is quite hilarious… from Chandler Jones, Hump to a sub par starter is truly funny. None of these guys performed after 30 years of age and Hump in reality had 1 good season

That's a really interesting signing.

If I'm Justin Jones and Bilal Nichols I think I might start calling real estate agents.
OR.... be the Alpha Dog and play like you are capable of playing! Can you imagine Jones and Nichols as back-ups along with Stills and Collier as additional depth? I like these options and feel these guys can pin their ears back and play aggressively knowing that we have the depth. Stay healthy my friends!

Absolutely. Injuries will be inevitable, so hopefully these guys all prove they are the free agent signings Monti hoped they would be.
