Benson is getting worrisome now. Why hold out this long? I presume it's kept him from team activities, too. Not good.
Maybe he didn’t like participating in early team activities? I don’t remember reading about him from those who participated in such activities.

I don’t think contract keeps them from attending anymore… MHJ was out practicing and attending meetings prior to signing. The weird thing is he’s a 3rd rounder how hard can it be?

I would have to think it has something to do with guaranteed money

Maybe he wants his entire contract to be guaranteed due to his knee injury in the past

There is only a few things that can be negotiated with rookie contracts. Could be the Offset language which has been a sticking point before.

Also the player selected right before Benson still hasn't signed. Benson could be waiting on him to see if he gets any guaranteed salary on his 3rd season or something like that. Even though the last 5 players at the end of the 2nd round didn't get any guaranteed salary in their 3rd seasons.

He just can't participate in training camp if he's not signed. They sign very generic waivers for off season activities on the event of injuries now, so you're right. That why most all rookies attention rookie camp without contracts.

Also, keep in mind between July 1st and TC, not much happens in the front office with a calm before the Strom mindset. Once Corley signs, I'm sure Trey will sign right after.

At least we aren't the Bears with both 1st rounders still unsigned.

I don't care about the Bears

I care about MO and his office not getting things done

They preach about how they have changed the way the FO does things

They want players that are team first

How about showing it and taking care of business

Not a good look for the Cardinals

Huh? This is an odd post. He hasn't miss anything of anything yet and as the above article stated, the pick in front him, the #1 of thr 3rd round hasn't signed yet. Come back with this in July 25th if he hasn't signed. Up until Trey, all picks signed quickly from both drafts. This is still a business for both sides and if Trey is waiting to see if he got get a little extra, so what, as long as it doesn't go past thr 25th.

And it's embarrassing for the Bears to not have neither of the 1st rounders signed. Caleb will be the latest a 1st overall pick has signed since Cam. Think about that. While you're upset that one of our midround picks is waiting for the playing in front of him to sign, allegedly.

Who cares about the pick in front of him?

Why wait when the FO should be proactive and get him signed

Excuses are what the old regime gave us

This regime preaches forward thinking

Show it!

Just so you know, I'm not upset

Just tired of this franchise continuing to not operate properly

You can't force a player to sign. We have zero knowledge who is holding it up, but the article speculated that Trey's agent is waiting to see what the player in front of Trey gets. That's all we know. The new FO has been on top of rookie signings and this is the first hold up of out of 20 drafted players in two years. That is light years ahead of the old FO.

If he's not signed in July 26th, I'll be here with you nit happy.

No, just steady throwing shade on the franchise per usual.
Doesn't matter what Monti does if the agent won't return his calls right now...

Of course, he could just offer to pay Benson like a second rounder and just guarantee the entire contract too, right? Yeah, that's good business.

Once the first pick in and 3 sets the slotting drop everyone else in the round will sign quick

At least wait for him to miss a practice to make this kind of a rant.

Forever making excuses for this inept franchise

I've been kicked in the groin over and over by this team

Time to see the changes they are talking about

I believe I read that 250 out of 257 picks have since signed

Banky said Chicago had 2 so that leaves 6 teams

Of course the Cardinals are one

Old article explained the likely reason for the hold-up. It's a nothing burger.
I posted that already

But it's now 17 days after that was written

Meanwhile is he in the building and learning the playbook?

All this down time the rook needs all the time he can learning the offense

Like I said all these other picks have been signed, but for some reason we are waiting for the one above him to sign?

Weak sauce IMO

I would venture to guess he has been studying the playbook, right?
