These are my thoughts as well. I inadvertently came across some of his songs listening to music on my tablet last night and couldn't stop.

With his voice, he really didn't need anything more than a guitar, if that.

Doves is a fantastic band. Their catalogue stretches back to the late 90's and every record is amazing. This is from their most recent album, The Universal Want, released in 2020.
