The drops and bobbles are concerning. Not mentioned is that Micheal Wilson has been a huge disappointment this year.

if that last sentence is true, then he's a failure as a draft pick. A 3rd rounder in his second year should be able to be a solid #2 option.Yep saw him in college, he actually reminded me a bit of Frank Sanders except he was hurt often in college. he tends to body catch so he'll drop balls, Frank did too, but he's a big body guy that I thought if he could stay healthy could help us. I know the 40 time wasn't great but I didn't really consider him slow in college but he looks slow in the NFL.
TO be fair I think he's probably being asked to do more than he's capable of, he's not a #2 Wr
Absolutely yes, I am pulling for him as well. It is the step back that bothers me. I thought he was making good progress last season, and his start to this season was even more promising. Of course you are right that the season is not lost yet, but he shouldn’t be that unstable. He shouldn’t regress like the last two games. Sure, all quarterbacks have bad games, but two in a row with the same mistakes as the rest of his career is highly worrying, in my mind.So hoping to see him get some consistency
I'm pulling for him, but the like you said the old habits are creeping back
A big game from him this week against the Niners will help
Yeah, I agree, PJ1. Also because I had no feeling that Washington would not score pretty much on every drive, right? To me the game was lost right before the half. We were down 7 and had a nice drive going with JC running well and a real nice completion to Wilson on the sideline. Fourth and one at the Washington 36 Yd line and we take a sack! Took us out of FG range and killed a promising drive. With little time left Washington was able to drive down the field for a FG. So 17-7 At the half rather then 14-10 or better. Wash scores on first drive of second half and game was over.

Petzings game plan is lacking for sureMaybe it actually is Petzing’s gameplans that dictates how he plays. I mean, maybe the gameplan kind of control him in making better decisions, and thus, when Petzing fails, so does Murray or vice versa. What do you think, BCF?
So now he have realized what everyone on this board could have told him for the last two weeks? Great.Murray agreed after watching film that there was a couple of plays he had Marv and didn't throw it.
The other comment Murray made was he needs to run more, he said anytime I play an entire game and have 1 run for 3 yards I feel "weird" about it. He said he likes to run the ball and realizes it's a big part of his game.
It’s evident Gannon doesn’t have a lot of options to counter especially with McBride out and Jones on suspension.A couple of things from the week. Gannon said about Harrison disappearing they were doing the same thing Buffalo did with "clouding" him after the first quarter. He said there were a couple of plays where Marv was open and didn't get the ball, said we have to get him the ball there.

So I'm fully expecting us to come out and target Marv in the Niners game and I also expect to see lots more than 1 run from Kyler.
Yes.^^ Is it the play calling from the sidelines or the QB?
A look at the 3rd round WRs from the last 4 drafts and how they did in year two. Obviously the ones drafted in 2023 haven't played a full second year. I have rated them all either a hit or miss using the solid #2 WR in year two criteria.if that last sentence is true, then he's a failure as a draft pick. A 3rd rounder in his second year should be able to be a solid #2 option.
Funny Gannon and Murray admit there were times they didn’t go to MHJ but there are some on here claiming that’s not true.A couple of things from the week. Great. Baker has won playoff games and has clearly been a better QB than Kyler. He gets a little more leeway, When you're just a middling QB and missing open receivers, it stands out a bit more.I'm sure there is.
I will add this, I'm not saying Kyler is elite or anything like that but I think because we're Cards fans we focus on our team over others. I see games every weekend where there are guys wide open who don't get the ball. Pointed out last night in the Thur thread by several was the play where Mayfield had Evans literally uncovered on a 3rd down play for what would have been a TD, instead he threw the screen to the back who got stopped short. They wound up losing that game because Baker didn't see Evans.
I see plays like that in virtually every game I watch.

Russ, I agree with the above. But, even with that missed opportunity, I think they (TB) would have won if instead of trying to run out the clock (Coaching 101) they should have had Baker pass on 2nd or 3rd down, because Atlanta couldn't stop him. JMO.The point was it happens every week in every game, we notice it more because we're Cards fans.
If you saw the play I'm talking about it was literally the play that cost TB the game, if he just throws the ball to Evans he walks in and Atlanta never has a chance to send the game to OT. QB's don't see every guy on every play.
The good news to me is both the coach and Kyler admitted it.
You should be able to find a breakdown of that particular play. I'm not sure which one you're talking about. It would be Interesting to see it and see what the play design was and what his reads should have been. The point was it happens every week in every game, we notice it more because we're Cards fans.

But yes it's true it happens every game but that don't mean anything to most of us. So I don't care if Tom Brady misses an open receiver it is not my team. Also I'll say it's not about missing something once in a while. It way too often that get us going. IMO.
Sure looks like he was determined to throw that screen pass before the snap. Was late in the game they were just trying to run clock so he dumped the ball off but if he sees Evans the game is over.
