They wouldn't have to, they'd have already scored on the ground.100% of the QBs could make that through against our D though

While I don't fully agree, I respect your opinions here and agree with a lot of what you say.Yeah, my main issue with Kyler is how bad he plays when the offensive line sucks. And let's be honest, the offensive line sucked on Sunday against a BAD pass rush. When Kyler doesn't trust his protection, he becomes a one-read quarterback, pre-determines where the ball is going to go before the snap, and rushes everything.
Once the team has rebuilt the trenches, has respectable play from the OL and DL, has a decent pass rush, if Kyler still can't get it done then we can bring somebody else in and they will have a good foundation to start with.
If we replace the quarerback now and still have crappy trenches, we only make things worse and probably ruin ANOTHER prospect.
Ah, what a fail. You see, he made a reasonable post, even if I can't agree in totality. Fair points rather than just "Kyler's awesome, neener neener" crap.Hold on, you can't make good critiques like this without yelling K1 is terrible and needs to not be here.
Go back and redo this.
I’m not ready to fire Petzing yet
Why not, coordinators are a dime a dozen in the NFL? They are changed out like underwear if they aren't successful right away.I’m not ready to fire Petzing yet
I've seen enough good and creative stuff (or been told he was doing good and creative stuff) that I'm not ready to turn the page. Why not, coordinators are a dime a dozen in the NFL? They are changed out like underwear if they aren't successful right away.
Top QBs enable that.I've seen enough good and creative stuff (or been told he was doing good and creative stuff) that I'm not ready to turn the page.
Petzing was on the preseason head coach shortlist going into training camp; we're a top 15 offense in points and yardage and top 5 in rushing YPA and yardage.
Do the most successful teams constantly change out their coordinators? Stability can help a team. Why not, coordinators are a dime a dozen in the NFL? They are changed out like underwear if they aren't successful right away.

You mean when the QB is taking on more responsibility for running the offense? His play calling midway through the end of games is worrying.
There's a read-option in there that I don't know if I'd classify as a called rush either. All I hear from Murray is that he can basically only do what plays the coaches call. Uh, if you are THE franchise QB feel free to use your head and go a different way if you see the defense giving you something or you think you can run it yourself. He talks like a yes man that only does what he is told. Meh.

That is my thought. the opening scripts have been very good. Hopefully the issues after are just Kyler and Petzing doing a better job of continuing to hammer what is working, and then pivot when the other teams adjust. That said, almost more of a Kyler issue than a Petzing issue. You mean when the QB is taking on more responsibility for running the offense?
The opening game scripts have been pretty effective even last season. I don't know if they don't have enough plays installed or what, but it seems like they run out of ideas really fast. Whatever the reason it is a team failure.
Still no rollouts…hell he had I believe 2 maybe 3 runs (going into the 4th). Even the announcers were questioning his playcalling including that last set of downs.PP had a couple of great play calls today but was still largely terrible.
K1 bailed out this dude but I am still not sold on him. Anything with JC on the edge should be abandoned post haste. Also the runs on 1st down need to be mixed in with more play action. I’m hoping he is still learning with K1 since its only been 13 games with him.

I don’t know. Shanahan said Connor became a factor because they were afraid Kyler was going to keep it. But I do agree he needs to move a bit more out of the pocket.Just that little half roll out on the very 1st play of the game generated a huge gain.
Then we don't see anything similar for the next 59 minutes? I don't get it.
But DP gets a reprieve for a week. Defense gave us a chance and DP/JC/K1 (and company) made it pay off.

While I agree with your second paragraph, bitg receivers are fully turned and waiting on a ball and kylers arm isn’t even yet in position to throw. That’s indicative of kylers reliance on seeing players open before throwing. Yes, he shouldn’t have been in that play call to begin with, but also yes he should’ve thrown with much better timing.Naw, on All 22, those DBs are downhill. That's a pick 6 if he throws it with the line bunched up and empty backfired. Sack was not horrible, throw away is the same result.
The playcall of double hitches in empty shotgun on 4th and 1 when you have Connor and Kyler available was malpractice.
Disagree. Top line QBs make that play plenty of times.Disagree. He can't throw that, at all.
Nah. It just gets blown outta proportion when his defenders can’t take a bit of criticism his way and then it becomes a battle. Which, admittedly, is stupid because no one ever convinces anyone else around here regarding anything.Totally wrong, there is plenty of room to criticize Kyler but that's not what happens around here at all. People really behave as if he is the reason we got blown out, and trading him away will solve our problems.
