The Arizona Cardinals are releasing S Russ Yeast from the practice squad
@PHNX_Cardinals

I guess he didn’t rise to the occasion.

His play must have been stinky.

The rest of the D was all over the opponent like a… rash, so we didn’t, ahem, knead him anymore.

I think you let both of them finish this year and test the market. Then bring Budda back on a 4 year- top 10 safety contract and Conner a 2 year top 10 rb contract.

I’m stoked about the turn of events- but this team still has mega holes to fill and can make the impact way bigger in other positions.
I’m not sure they have “mega” holes to fill. Sure, they need an edge and another asset on the defensive line and help in the defensive back end. But the Cardinals have some decent players out for the year and several who will be ready to return after the bye. I think we’re in decent — but not great — shape personnel wise. And that’s good because it looks like they’ll be up pretty late in the upcoming draft, barring a total collapse.

They do have a mega hole at DT. Those players out for the year were terrible, and none of them, even if they get into form, are a Big John. Same goes for edge, unless Beej miraculously becomes a Big John. At ILB and in the secondary, I'm excited to say the defense is looking good.

We do have mega holes to fill on defense. That has not changed. The good news is the draft is strong in the areas we are weak.

Offensively the holes are less glaring but present. Thankfully we have been able to use the run game to cover them up.

Just having Browning in there with the extra push make AR hurry some throws and made a big difference

Imagine having a guy that can get constant pressure and how much it will help the secondary

Both Kyler Murray and Jonathan Gannon have entered the awards-season chat. Murray is currently seventh in the MVP race on ESPN Bet at +2200. He's also third in the comeback player of the year race at +900.Murray went from 40-1 to 22-1 to win MVP after Sunday's win.
Gannon is seventh in the coach of the year race on ESPN Bet at +800. Gannon was 18-1 heading into Sunday's win over the Jets. He was 20-1 two weeks ago, 35-1 the week before that and 60-1 before their four-game winning streak.

We can speculate but I’m not thinking about that right now. Just like I don’t believe in speculating MVP, Coach of the Year and such 10 weeks into the season.
This league is so goofy, and god forbid, we could all be crying in our beer in 4 weeks.
We still need one more win to get the over on games won this season. Who am I betting on this week?

Looking ahead, in Week 17, there are currently five games in a "pool" from which three will be selected to play on Saturday: Cardinals at Rams, Broncos at Bengals, Chargers at Patriots, Colts at Giants, Falcons at Commanders.
We should be one of the three. Colts at Giants should not be. When do we know?

the holes on D will show up when the Cards play better teams.

I do believe the D has improved since the season began: the young secondary guys have really gotten better and are buying time for the rush to get to the QB.

If we can get an Aaron Donald/JJ Watt or more realistically a Grady Jarrett/Fletcher Cox in the draft it will go a long way to upgrading the defense.
