When would you have put Benson in?
Division game and pretty much a must win.

They should be playing the 1st team.

This is just looking for something to try and be concerned about.

needed a manly man against the frisco front today - conner broke a lot of tackles - made a lot of people miss in the backfield and ran over others

With a late draft pick in the next draft, draft Cam Skattebo out of ASU. He runs through and around players.

Not at all I dind't look at all the box scores but out of about 6 the only other team that didn't have a backup RB get 4-5 carries was Carolina. Even the 49ers in the same divisional game gave their rookie RB 5 carries today. We ran 57 plays and he wasn't in once that I'm aware of.

He's what I call a football player. I was judging an MMA card Saturday night and someone from the crowd yells out "he's scared" and the dude yells back I ain't scared of "ISH". That's Skattebo dude runs hard, but we'll see if he can stay healthy doing it.

Yeah, when teams concentrate on stopping him, he seems to get better. Talk about a hungry, physical running back with speed, not afraid of contact, that's him. Also, he is a team player. He does a lot of other things that make him valuable.

Kinda sounds like James Conner. Could be a perfect replacement

Love watching this guy make plays out there. He was a slow starter in the NFL, but I think he is getting it nowadays. A couple of times this last game he ran toward the sideline then cut back just enough to gain a few more yards and a first down.

Noticed K1 saying something in Bensons ear on bench after game. I know K1 had the RB's over at his place for dinner that week after watching his recent vlog. Probably happy to see the rook have a good game and giving him some encouragement.

wild to call Bensons NFL career a slow start.... Cards have clear 1 and 2 down back in JC and a bonafide pass pro in Demecardo... Where exactly is Benson supposed to get reps?

And again, the Bruce Arian's quote of "rookies by thanksgiving" is just fine.... Not a slow start out of Benson.

He was quoted last week saying the light went on, the game is slowing down, credited James Conner and said he has seen it coming in practice and it's now carrying over to games. Also said he watches Conner break tackles and it motivates him to do that same thing.

I said earlier in the year I thought he and Marv were the key to the 2nd half for the team because they were the 2 guys with the talent to take the offense to the next level that hadn't done it yet. Marv has been stepping up each week and now it looks like Benson is going to as well.

I'm really psyched about this team now. If Darius can contribute on defense we have a shot to make the playoffs and that would surprise me it would be a year ahead of what I figured would be the case.

He was awful in the reps he was getting, by and large, which is what was meant by his slow start. But I and others were preaching patience on Benson and he seems to be doing quite well. As was said, a light went on for him.

It's the impatience by us the fans creating this. Vast majority of good draft picks don't really start to contribute till around week 10. RBs are however usually quicker to start contributing.

I'll disagree here. If it was a simple lack of contribution, that's fine and to be expected. Showing adverse traits--hesitation, unwilling to accelerate, tentativeness--that can be and should be concerning, and not a matter of impatience. Lord knows the Cards have a history of RBs turning out like this. What would have been unwarranted would have been for folks to give up on him or overreact. Other than a few posters expressing concern, I don't think anyone on the board wanted to give up on the kid or anything.
