I flew out to Orlando to surprise my father in law (who is battling Pancreatic Cancer) on his birthday . The game wasn't on the TV out there so I haven't seen it yet. Did I miss anything?

Sorry for your f-n-l. Hope he gets better and can beat it.

You missed an unfortunate loss, as did I (I was in the air). I can watch it on nfl+, but don't think I will. :(

We lost that game by the narrowest of margins. Up by three, we had 1st and 10 on about their 20 yard line with 4 minutes left or whatever.

A lot of things had to go wrong for us to end up losing that one, including getting screwed by the officials. ****.

@BritCard - you've really backed off of Murray over the last several weeks. Even in this two game stretch where he hasn't played great. This, after being one of his primary detractors over the past two years.

I'm not complaining. I appreciate it in fact. But I am curious as to why. May I ask if it's because you think overall K1 is playing well?

I don't think he's been as bad as the results. Earlier in the season he was missing a lot of open guys, his timing and anticipation was garbage, and he was an obvious chunk of grit in the cogs of the offense.

The last 2 weeks have been less obvious. He's not generally playing bad, he's made some good plays, he's more had bad moments. The pick 6 vs the Seahawks and the 2 poor interceptions vs the Vikings being the obvious ones but he also missed a couple of open guys vs the Seahawks that might have made all the difference.

Earlier in the year it felt pretty clear to me it was mainly Kyler. Last 2 weeks it's not only been him, the interior O line hasn't been great either game. It was better vs the Vikings, but while Kyler wasn't sacked there were a number of times where guys were just getting open but Kyler had to bail to to interior pressure that threw the whole thing off.

It was absolutely the right call, in fact it worked. The point of taking the 3 there is that it takes FG off the board for Darnold, that put them in a 4th and 7 without the option to kick a 45 yard FG. A 4th and 7 is a very low odds play, probably less than 15% conversion rate, that should have been the game.

You can argue that if we go for it and don't make it, then they kick the FG on the 4th and 7 and it's a tied game. But flip it around, if it was on the other foot would you rather be having to drive for a TD or a FG? Would you rather be in 4th and 7 with no FG option or with one?

It was the right call, the defense screwed it up.

Man, it was a bad decision. I don’t think I’ve given Gannon flack at all for that decision until this morning either.

Gannon needs to realize while the defense has been playing well, we don’t have anyone that can win a rep 1v1. We don’t have a Garrett, Watt, Crosby, or even an Anderson or Hunter. They countered our blitzes because that’s really the only way we were getting pressure & sacks. That’s putting way too much on your defense especially knowing Minnesota was moving the ball at will in that 2nd half.

We're a conservative team (when it comes to TDs/Fgs). It is what it is. Should have tried to get a TD vs the 49ers late but played for the FG. Even Brady didn't like the 1st and 2nd down play calls.

Jalen Thompson's blitz saved that game. Cause it just felt like an upcoming L until that.

And we really shouldn’t be cause we don’t have front 4 personnel on defense to get away with it. Gannon need to realize that.

Watch the play. We had a defender a half a step away from crushing darnold after he released the ball. It was a hairs breadth from being a successful decision. But that’s football and the cards, sometimes so close but BLAH!
