Boise gets the winner of Penn St -SMU compared to Clemson-Texas.I’ll take 4. 3 would have been amazing getting in the Fiesta Bowl but this is still awesome.

What’s got two thumbs and is damn smart?Texas will be 5 seed imo
They didn’t want to give ASU a Home Field…So Boise State gets rewarded the 3rd seed by beating UNLV? SMH
That's exactly why. They also want to max the probability of "marquee" teams advancing to the semis and beyond. They didn’t want to give ASU a Home Field…
In a de facto fashion by seedingDoes the Committee also make the bowl assignments?

No teams in the second round have a home field.I thought that was the purpose of it in the 1st round. The other rounds would be played on neutral fields.

ASU has a bye. So second round.I thought that was the purpose of it in the 1st round. The other rounds would be played on neutral fields.
Right. Asu doesn’t play in the first round.I'm talking about the first round after listening to those who talked about it on ESPN.
In a memorable game, in 1970 ASU beat North Carolina in the Peach Bowl during a snow storm.
The Sun Devils finished the season at 11-0.
I cannot be upset by this. Boise St has been ranked ahead of ASU all season. And, it's pretty debatable how much better Iowa St is compared to UNLV.So Boise State gets rewarded the 3rd seed by beating UNLV? SMH
They only beat Wyoming 17-13 who was a mutual opponent.
If you asked me (or most anybody) which of the bye teams are least likely to advance based on eye test, I guarantee Boise would be by far the number one choice.I cannot be upset by this. We came out of nowhere. We weren't even ranked until we played BYU. The fact that we won the Big 12 and got a bye is beyond all of our wildest dreams. I hope we don't cheapen that with a bunch of whining about getting a 4 seed instead of the 3 seed.
What's the timetable on a collarbone? Asking for a friend.
Same.I cannot be upset by this. Boise St has been ranked ahead of ASU all season. And, it's pretty debatable how much better Iowa St is compared to UNLV.

Bye teams are second rounders. ASU is a bye team. Hence, no home field.I'm talking about the first round after listening to those who talked about it on ESPN.
Edit: There may be some confusion with bye teams, though.

Somehow they are going to give more weight to strength of schedule moving forward. And this sounds reasonable. My guess is they go to something more like March Madness moving forward. Top 4 seeds are still chosen by committee, but Conference Title winners get automatic spot in the playoffs and a first round home game to keep those games having heightened importance.
