I'm allowed to change my mind but it feels like a rebuild year. :-(

The lack of any sort of movement is really interesting. It feels like they are waiting for some of the big deals to go down and then they try to do some small tinkering. I wouldn't call it a rebuild year yet.

Hazen has said repeatedly "We won't be leading the majors in runs scored again", which is basically saying they are not investing in any big bats or even bringing back Pederson or Walker.

I would imagine they try to bring in a legit closer, sign a platoon guy for 1st base, and trade a SP. And then they will buy or sell at the deadline accordingly.

So basically back to mediocrity or worse.

No doubt, that would be more than fair. Can't lose the production of both Walker and Joc and expect to compete for the division.
Yup

Thinking of renewing our Season Pass. But I want good baseball to watch

I don't think they're expecting to compete for s*** this year.
We got the once in a decade old college try, now we're going to be back to mediocrity until the next batch of youngsters comes out of nowhere to surprise the league.

Considering we have Gallen/Kelly realistically for one more year, this would seem to be a year to try and compete.

Well this is why I believe they are a wait and see at the deadline team. If they aren't in the thick of it, then it is a full sell off and reset.

Probably true. It's shame we wasted our one season of profligate spending on arguably our worst signing in club history.
