I was thinking about Ayton last night because I was playing 2k at like 1am and was actually playing with a guy who plays for the Rams. I made a joke about betting against them Sunday because he was awful at the game but still playing at 1am. Then I noticed they played the Cards today and won. I didn't know they played today or that it was against the Cards until after the Suns game. Glad I didn't put money on the Rams losing.

For the record, the player in this case is a defensive end and had 1 tackle in the game so he did play.

Thought an athlete playing 2k before game day story was relevant when Ayton is mentioned, especially since I experienced it less than 24 hours ago and it ties back to AZ sports.

Another bad trade. Nurkic is so terrible, terrible to an extent that him TRYING is worse than Ayton not giving a crap... on both ends. Allen is an 8th or 9th man. He can get hot from 3, but he can do little else, bad defender, not a ball handler... and now he's on a bad contract.

I don't miss Ayton, he's the most mercurial player I've ever experienced, but that trade sucks, Ayton, even being a child he was, is better than Nurk on both ends, and by a wide margin. We traded for a downgrade. Camara being thrown in is salt in the wound.

Ayton averaged 18/10 here on 60% shooting while being a top 5 center defensively.

Did he have bad nights sure and even on his bad nights he still would get you what Nurkic averages 9/9, but on his good nights he could get you 25/16 something Nurkic could never dream of.

Once they started putting his name in trade rumors JJ should have pulled the trigger. We legit could have had Sabonis but nope another horrible move by James Jones.

Yeah, a lot of Sabonis and Turner rumors, don't know how real they were but we heard them often.

I'm not 100% sure if Sabonis was available in trade for Ayton, but I think Myles Turner was early on.

Yes, they both were. It's hard to know for sure. However, a few years back it seemed like the Turner trade rumors were always out there.

It took Tyrese Haliburton to get Sabonis, so the Pacers set a high price.

I'd rather have Camara than Grayson, especially when you look at the financial cost. Somehow the Suns were roped into helping Milwaukee land Lillard by providing the youth Portland sought. James Jones got played like a fiddle, which doesn't inspire confidence of him being able to create a multi-team deal to bring in help.

JJ hasn't had a good trade since he's been here. The ones that are decent, trading down for Cam Johnson, can be attributed to someone else, Jeff Bower or OKC/CP3 where Paul basically said "trade me there" and Sam Presti obliged.

I don't think Nurkic has ever been anything better than a below average starter. He just doesn't bring a lot to the table. Not a scoring threat, not a defender at all... he rebounds all right but nothing that comes near balancing out the deficits.

I really like what I saw of Nurkic when he played in Denver and thought he had tremendous upside. He only played 20 games for Portland his first season there because of injury. Of course, I've always been a fan of Zubac as well.

It's easy to see why the Nuggets traded him for Mason Plumlee with Jokic there.

The Kings were in the advantageous position of having two star quality point guards, where they could trade one for a big man. That's why I always believe in drafting BPA.

I was sold on Haliburton before the NBA Draft, so I was not surprised. I couldn't believe he was there at #10 when the Suns drafted.

The price tag on the Durant trade, if measured in first round draft picks the Nets will receive, is likely to be 10 or more first round picks, of which 8 are unprotected. I won't even get into swaps and second round picks.

They got 5 for Mikal so they're sitting at 9 first and they flipped Jae Crowder for 5 second rounders. It's insane how well they were set up.

And we will have to wait and see what the Nets get in return for Cam Johnson. I figure at least 1-2 first round picks plus players.

Any trade that gets positive assets for Durant would be good for the Suns. I think he has been exposed and I would expect the market for him to be very soft.

When all is said and done, the KD trade will probably be the costliest one in NBA history… I don’t think we’re going to get similar value from any potential Booker trade.

It's really disheartening if one measures the Durant trade in terms of draft picks. It boggles the mind.

Especially when you consider that most of us fans thought we gave up too many assets in the trade. Ishbia didn't have any patience when making that deal.
