Mainstreet also mentioned swapping KD for Butler just a few posts up in this thread. What does it matter though? I own my views. I don't need to invoke others to stand for what I said and would like to see happen. You clearly don't do the same, which is your prerogative. It doesn't matter what the talking heads say, like Kendrick Perkins, Steven A Smith, Jalen Rose, Shaq, Chuck, etc. They're right and wrong a lot.
You said we'd be legit contenders or favorites when the KD trade was made and I believe again when we acquired Beal. Your entire justification for the KD trade was it made us legit contenders, ie favorites or a team to beat. I'm not going through 2-3 years of posts so you can quibble over how you said it. I'm not surprised you're trying to deny it or sidestep it now. Thanks for reminding me why I had you on ignore for most of the season.
Edit - Rather than dispute the point, you want to claim my position is speaking for everyone? Not even sure why you say I'm "everyone" since I didn't say anything other than my own view. I didn't claim to speak for a majority or an entirety.
Except see responses since you responded to me. It appears you are an a bit of an island. Which is fine. It's your keyboard. To answer your question? It doesn't matter. Nobody else wants to own your views. Who is saying otherwise?!?
Please show me me where I invoked anybody else's thoughts to form my own? That trade hasn't been made. Therefore, nobody has made that assessment. ERGO it's my thought. Hello?!?
I said KD should make this team legit contender for possibly the next few years after the trade. I said at the time they took a big risk. I have repeatedly said the Suns are taking a risk (because of his health) and with the assets they gave up they better win. You can't just leave that part out and pretend like you made some kind of legit point. Was I excited after the trade? Yep. So were most people. I was excited about the potential.
The first thing I said after the Beal trade was "This has the
potential to be a fantastic trade". I felt Beal could make the team deeper. I also said that if Beal was our #2 that trade didn't excite me. So no, I didn't say it the first time and I didn't say it a second time either that "The Suns were the team to beat". The only time I remember invoking a similar phrase is after the Lakers made a bunch of moves. I thought they might be the team to beat in the West.
Show me again where I ever just blanket said the Suns are the team to beat. Funny how you will just throw B.S. out there when you want to make an accusation but then don't have the time to prove said accusation. Shocked!
You are no loss to me. Put me back on ignore. It would save me so much time responding to your posts that serve no purpose other than to argue or criticize people.
Thank you?!!?
