Agreed. By mid-late Spring Ball, teams will have either experienced a key injury and will be in sudden need of a tested and proven arm, or, they have realized the quality of their rotation isn’t what they thought it was and as such, will be more intentional about dealing…
One of those teams could easily be us.

#Dbacks pitchers and catchers will report to @SaltRiverFields in less than 40 days.The D'backs still have a glutton of starting pitchers, and could use a (major) DH upgrade.

I can see a world where Lawler is on the roster and plays some second, short and third, allowing guys like Suarez and Marte to DH a bunch and resting their bodies. Not really sure what is out there that would help this team or what we can afford.

] mentions there is a 50/50 chance the #Dbacks closer in 2025 comes via FA or trade… meaning that rules out LHP A.J. Puk or RHP Justin Martinez in that role (at least to start the season).
