The guy had a non serious injury last year and played every game his rookie year, nothing about this reeks of injury prone… especially when he played the entire 20, 21, 22, and 23 seasons
Well maybe not as much injury prone as a recent injury that's still fresh in my mind, but I still think edge rushers are easier to find in the draft. This team has missed having a Darnell Docket for years, I hope we can get the best DT in the draft with our 1st pick or sign one in FA. Save our picks unless we absolutely have to make a trade.

Highsmith is rated 8th on pff in a year.

He's a good player, but he's overpaid. I think if traded the Steelers have to eat a bunch of the money though so they new team doesn't have to pay him that much.

Realistically a 27/28 year old pass rusher that's proven in the NFL is going to go for a 3rd. Especially as he's still under contract for 3 seasons and they won't be bad value for the new team, I work it out at sub $15m a year owed.

Low 3rd, high 4th range. For us would probably be looking at a 4th and future 5th. Maybe a future 3rd with undetermined value.

I'd definitely go a 3rd for Highsmith then still draft a guy. I'd rather have a robust edge room with too much talent than to overly rely on slim pickings in that room.

As for Watt, I'm sure I'd pass. Every single "offer" on this thread for Watt would get laughed out of the building by the Stillers. Rightly so, and yet I don't want us spending the capital needed and the contract necessary for him. If it were just age or just injury, maybe, but not when both are a factor.

I don't believe the Cardinals would be interested in trading a 1st for either player. Anything lower than that probably would be discussed.

Right. Any franchise knows the Stillers aren't stupid enough to trade Watt for less than a 1st plus...well, lots...so no reason to call about him.
