    The Buck Stops Here!

The Eagles are garbage trying to run inside the numbers. It's usually a complete waste of a play other than keeping the opposing defense concerned about the run. Sure, I do wish it actually gained yards with any frequency. But you are correct that the RB threat is all about screens...

Yeah, he did walk into that one.

    The Buck Stops Here!

I do expect to see more dual RB sets in this one. It's particularly effective when they use one as a fullback (seeing as Philly barely has a legit FB on the roster) or send Westbrook out as a decoy away from the run to pull the LB spy out of position. Just please keep LJ Smith off the field.

Will do, Mr. 4,200 posts. Skip my posts if it's easier for you. I'm having a good time interacting with the other knowledgeable Cardinals fans on the site.;)

    Fitzgerald on Hail Mary passes

Found this interesting. I like seeing what special things some teams do regularly in practice. http://sports.espn.go.com/espnmag/story?section=magazine&id=3837516 Complete a hail mary, by Larry Fitzgerald "Most people think you just throw the ball up to the end zone and somebody tries to...

Philadelphia Daily News article on local Card fans

Just curious - do you guys get many/any Philly fans at your local AZ sportsbars? Given the silly NY/NJ/PA NFL TV market rules I usually have to hit a sportsbar to see half of the Eagles games. My usual spot has a great variety of fans - usually fans of 20-30 teams any given week. Of all of...

Thanks. That is strange the way the media portrayed it - you would think that the string of unbroken sellouts would have been a front-running fact in those articles. Why do you think the stadium would sell out 32 straight games and then have trouble with a huge postseason game last week? It...

Your attitude as a fan is commendable. But please try and put SOMETHING of substance into your replies. This is a forum. Dragging out a rah-rah opposing-fans-know-nothing line repeatedly only goes so far in making your points and advancing conversation. You tell me that I don't know your...

    Crowd control

Maybe. I didn't find anything. Google "mcnabb audible" with News or Blogs and you barely come up with anything. I just don't recall seeing it much as a fan. If anything he might tell the RB next to him that he plans to pass the ball instead of a run and the RB should pick up the obvious...

    Crowd control

As a side point, McNabb really doesn't audible very often. He relies on his TEs, RBs, and slot receivers to curl back to him on broken plays and go from there. And a play has to be very broken for him not to have a chance at scrambling out of the pocket to see what is available. I wish there...

Okay. I guess that makes you the winner, then. Say hi to your 73,000 pals at your next family BBQ since you obviously know the exact makeup of people attending this game. Surely there is ZERO discernible difference in crowd noise between a game that had face-value tickets available over the...

    Turnovers and "D"

Tell that to Antonio Pierce. Westbrook had a late release on a broken screen, burned Pierce as a spy, and took it straight to the house. I'm glad you brought this up. It reminds me that it's worth noting that the Eagles wideouts, while not large guys by any stretch, have been downright...

I'm with goeagles. It will be very loud. It will not be as loud as last week because of all the scalped-ticket "fans" replacing the face-value Real Fans that were able to get seats last week. And casual fans rarely know that they shouldn't yell when the D captain is relaying his signals or...

    Turnovers and "D"

One part of the Eagle's screen play game is that while they run it very well, they haven't used it more than 2 or 3 times a game in recent games. Opponents know to look for it. Keep in mind, however, that you're using a signifigant amount of mental energy when you are constantly looking out...

    Turnovers and "D"

I don't expect a huge change here. The Eagles use their RBs but they don't really run the ball. It's mostly just to keep the opposing D honest. The recent Eagles have never had your NFL standard game where a run gets you a minimum 4-5 yards. It's -2 to +2 yards at best until they crack out...

Say hi to the executives and retirees that buy up half the seats in your row for us. You're going to have to yell extra loud to make up for them. ;) Nice seats to have, though. Congrats.

    Boldin Injury Watch

True on both counts. But it's no surprise that Dawkins is both old (35) and is a starter for his hitting and run stopping. Or that both are safties and not cornerbacks. I always find it a little interesting when people claim that Dawkins is a huge achilles heal in the passing game. Can't...

    My experience with "Eagle fan"

Nah. It seems like most of the jockeying is centered in just a few threads like this one. The rest of the threads are pretty solid.
