Should NFL awards be handed out after the Super Bowl?

What I really detest is having the pro-bowl rosters announced before the season is over. Makes the rosters that much less meaningful. The other awards I have no problem with. They're for the regular season, not the playoffs.

    Kurt Warner vs. Craig Morton

Somehow, I don't think my pointing this out is going to have the slightest effect on the preparation of the Cardinals for this game, or on their performance on the field.

    Kurt Warner vs. Craig Morton

To date, the only QB to lead two different teams to the Super Bowl is Craig Morton, who went with the Cowboys to Super Bowl V, and the Broncos to Super Bowl XII. Morton, famously, was the Cowboys starter in '69 and '70, taking Dallas to the Super Bowl following the '70 season, then lost his...

As a St. Louisan, I could not possibly disagree more.

I Have a HUGE HUGE HUGE Dilemma on my hands

Football is important. Your family is more important. You're the only one who can judge just what kind of strain this could put on your marriage. I will say that if you decide on the dinner over the game, you've gotta be committed to it. Doing what she wants you to do and being surly about...

Make room on the bulletin board....

Pathetic journalism, and kind of ridiculous from a football perspective. Totally throwing out the specific teams involved and our rooting interest in them for a moment... Why does everybody seem to forget the whole "any given Sunday" maxim come playoff time? Everybody spouts it as a truism...

If you could only thank one man for this...Who would it be?

That's more good players than the Rams have drafted in any three consecutive drafts since Vermeil.

Good Luck To The Cardinals And You're Fans

I love seeing posts like this. Very classy. I'd do one myself, but I'm here all the time anyway, and if anybody here is in doubt about who I'm rooting for they're not paying attention. ;)

What other boards are saying about the Cards

From a Rams board, unfortunately: http://www.ramsrule.com/theoriginalherd/dcboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=101&topic_id=139374&mesg_id=139487&page= Definitely still some who think it's all a fluke. Plus, if you think the Kurt Warner fights here get bad, you should see theirs. :P

This has got to be a dream.

I am not a morning person. At all. I woke up this morning and went through the motions of showering and dressing without an actual thought getting processed. And then at the breakfast table, I suddenly sat up straight and said to my wife, "Wait. Did the Cardinals really beat the Panthers by...

Video: Post Game Euphoria @ CAR

Man... couldn't you just feel the excitement in that room? Loved that howl when Warner said to remember what's at stake. :) Fantastic video.

This team sucks. They lucked into those turnovers. No shot to advance.

Also, the Giants/Eagles are clearly the best team in the league. There is no way anyone beats the Giants/Eagles. I've known since the playoffs started that the Giants/Eagles were going to walk away with it because they are clearly the superior team.

    Why Carolina will win. Period.

Jake Delhomme was MVP. Sadly for Carolina, he was MVP for the wrong team. :D Man, I was so wrong. I really did not expect that kind of a game from him. Very happy about being wrong, let me tell you. :)

    Cards Panthers predictions

Panthers beat writer on the radio this morning (I live in Carolina) predicted the following: High score, the Cards play well, but they ultimately only contain the running game and Steve Smith makes a couple of plays that make the difference. I think that sounds about right, unfortunately...

If the Cards and Philly Should Both Win...

" Delhomme has made some great throws at the end of games this year. Steve Smith has also made great plays, obviously, but that just works to give a QB confidence. I don't think he's very likely to fade under pressure.

    Mike & Mike Piles On

That strikes me as a little bit insane. If the players are all that terrible, wouldn't you have to give the coaching staff a little bit of credit for getting them into the 2nd round of the playoffs? If the players are all godawful, then Whisenhunt is a genius. If Whisenhunt is a moron, then...

    Vick to Chicago??

No. What Vick did in those last three years was stay healthy so the totals looked better. His rates weren't changing much. What a bloody coincidence that Roddy White bloomed the moment he started playing with a QB who could actually hit the broad side of a barn.

    Vick to Chicago??

Vick reached 17 passing TDs exactly once. Nobody is going to disagree with you on this. Some of these guys aren't even starters... they're backups who played this year because the starter went down. Regardless, Flacco? Ryan? Delhomme? No. HELL no. I'd disagree with a lot of the other...

Vegas has Carolina a 10-point favorite

I doubt it will. I don't think their memories are so short that they've forgotten a close game in their stadium earlier this season. That's unfortunate. It'd be better if they were totally overconfident. IMO, rematch games are won and lost due to coaching more than other games. It often...
