    Post-Combine Mock Draft

There are no QBs in this draft worth our 1st. With a restructure for Kolb and added depth, I can see the Cards push towards an upgraded line then grab a QB next year.

    Post-Combine Mock Draft

Gotcha. I also saw that on the official Cardinals forum. Good bye Cierre Wood!

    Post-Combine Mock Draft

If I'm not mistaken, we received two 6th round picks from the Vikings for the A.J. Jefferson trade. (Our 7th round pick was included in the trade) http://www.dailynorseman.com/2013/1/13/3871666/minnesota-vikings-2013-nfl-draft-selections

    Post-Combine Mock Draft

I have to disagree with this. I still consider him as the best Center and a 1st round pick, even with his injury. A lot of players from the Alabama team are injured in some way, shape, or form. Milliner has a torn labrum and Lacy has a torn hamstring, but you don't see that hurting their draft...

    Post-Combine Mock Draft

Feel free to post your own mock draft. Here's my 3.0 list: RD. 1 (07) – Chance Warmack OG, Alabama Pro Bowl potential and possibly the safest pick in the draft. Fills both BPA and need criteria. It's time to bring a physical presence to our OL, and bolster a running game that was ranked 32nd...

    Matt Flynn up for trade

Yeah but you never know. It doesn't hurt to be optimistic. :D I honestly don't think he'll go top 15 anyways.

    Matt Flynn up for trade

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000146057/article/matt-flynn-will-not-be-released-by-seattle-seahawks No I don't want him. However, it is a good thing if other teams start grabbing their QBs in free agency. Geno Smith falling to the 2nd round possibly? We can only hope so.

NFL Salary Cap Increases to 123Million

Yes, I believe it was about 3 million.

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

And that's my point. You can't just go 100% BPA all the time.
  11. MWOOD92

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

It was just an example. My whole point is that you need to evaluate a player based on whether he is the best player available AND based on what position you need. There has to be a balance between the two and you can't just pick one or the other.

Would be awesome if this really happened

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

And that's where need outweighs BPA. OLB is obviously a bigger need vs a CB. So you would take that OLB over the CB, even though the CB is graded a little bit higher. I'm not talking about reaching for a player. I would definitely take Dee Milliner over Geno Smith. But Milliner vs Jones...

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

Either you're too stubborn to agree or just flat out clueless. But that's okay.

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

Need AND BPA is the same exact thing as BPA AND need. Haha you obviously don't have a clue as to what I'm saying. CB graded 95 vs OLB graded 94. Who would you pick?
  16. MWOOD92

CB Dee Milliner will be a top 10 pick for sure

That's right it's your opinion. I believe there shouldn't be a separation between the two.
  17. MWOOD92

CB Dee Milliner will be a top 10 pick for sure

You're right we did have strong play from our secondary, so let's help the front 7 out a little huh? So if there's a CB graded at 95 with low need, and an OLB graded at 94 with high need... you would take the CB simply because he's graded a little higher? There are a few pass rushers in this...

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

Need and BPA. It's the same exact thing if I said BPA and need. It all depends on the situation whether you consider BPA to outweigh need and vice versa. It's called balancing, mate! I don't need to choose a "lane".

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

I never said one superseded the other.
  20. MWOOD92

CB Dee Milliner will be a top 10 pick for sure

People like to say "Oh it's a pass happy league so we must have lots of CBs". No no no. The majority of a CBs production is based off of the pass rush. You could have scrubs at CB, but with an elite pass rusher their play is elevated. A "shut down" CB can only play man to man for so long...

Cardinals need to take BPA always, and not be set and stone with OL

You need to balance NEED and BPA. You can't just go for one or the other, if you want to be successful.
  22. MWOOD92

    Alex Smith ??

I think they could get a little more than that. Remember, we gave up DRC and a 2nd round pick for Kevin Kolb... High demand low supply, I could see at least a 2nd round.
  23. MWOOD92

CB Dee Milliner will be a top 10 pick for sure

I believe Floyd will turn out to be a good pick. But LOOK at our OL! Do people forget that our OL was one of the worst in NFL HISTORY? What about our QB? No point in having a bunch of top talent receivers when you don't have... A) A QB to throw to them B) An OL to protect the QB C) An OL to...
  24. MWOOD92

CB Dee Milliner will be a top 10 pick for sure

It's called balancing need and BPA. Going BPA is what got us Floyd instead of DeCastro, or Ryan Williams over Brooks Reed, Kyle Rudolph, etc.

    Post-Combine Top 7 Big Board

A lot has to do with scheme and position. He never got to play as a 3-4 OLB at LSU. Mingo has the speed and ability to drop into coverage, but he needs to gain the weight and strength to excel in pass rushing. An NFL strength & conditioning program will help with that.
