    Snap Counts - Lions

Hard to extrapolate too much info from the Lions game as we pulled so many starters on the offense. 1. Not only Carson, but Veldeer and Iupati also came out, ostensibly to give Watford and Sowell some reps. 2. Fitz and Floyd took most of the WR reps this week. John Brown only got 57% of...

    Snap Counts - Lions

Not sure how to post the counts where the columns line up, but I use the following link to Football Outsiders for snap-counts. http://www.footballoutsiders.com/stats/snapcounts

Can Matt Barkley be a QBOF?

Bump. If Barkley, who I think is in W.Virginia with the team, is on the roster for this weekends match-up against Pitt, we officially lose our 7th round pick. Haven't heard any word as to how he has looked during his time here.

    Dwight Freeney Signed

And not ours. If Oakafor has been king of the coverage sack, Freeney should feast. Oak has taken 90% of all Def snaps this season. If Freeney slides into about a third of those.... that still leaves a lot of playing time for an unproven rookie to step into. Definitely remains a concern...

    Dwight Freeney Signed

My only concern with this type of contract structure... anyone think he'll guard against the screen? I guess we have Cory Redding to take care of that, and maybe rings mean more than "sacks" of cash. Go Cards!!!

    1998 Flashback

I have this game on VHS, but sadly, no longer have a VHS player. Need to get it copied over to DVD. Seeing Pat running around making plays... very nostalgic.

    Week 5 Heroes and Goats

I deleted yesterdays game from my DVR, so I can't go back to check; but, I remember being surprised that the lions were bringing so many kick-offs out from deep in the endzone. I'm guessing teams think our Kick-off coverage is poor, so they are taking their chances on longer returns...

    Really good Carson Palmer article

Not sure if it's old... first time I've seen it. Great read, especially considering the source: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2577377-what-keeps-carson-palmer-going

    Lions Game Preview

I think you can say that for most teams in the League, the best player on the roster is the best player on the team. :) Just razzing you. Good write up. Thank you.

    Outside LBers

I don't see us picking at the top of the draft for a few years. Everyone knows the lack of a decent pass rusher has been our Achilles heel for some time, so they jump us. Was Spoon our attempt at addressing this issue this past off-season? Not working out thus far. Perhaps we have a deep...

Week 4 Snap Counts and a few thoughts

Against the Rams, I'm showing Golden on only 8 ST plays... 27%. He added 11 plays on Def, 21%. Kenny Demens and Alan Fua both were in on 67% of ST plays.

Week 4 Snap Counts and a few thoughts

On offense, I thought we'd continue to use a lot of 2 & 3 TE formations against the Rams, as we did against SF. That didn't happen. Fells role remained the same with 82% and 85% of offensive snaps; however, Niklas and Greshams's touches plumeted. We ran the same number of plays on offense...

Derek Anderson could have gotten the ball farther.... I'll live with it from Carson. Disappointing loss yesterday because I don't think the better team won. Tip my cap to the Rams as they took advantage of our mistakes. They needed a flawless game, and for us to cough up a few boneheaded...
