09 Playoffs- Lakers vs Rockets Series thread

By the way, let's not kid ourselves into thinking that Ron really thinks Roy is the best player in the game. He's trying to play some mind games, and draw some attention to himself like always.

09 Playoffs- Lakers vs Rockets Series thread

Yao has to outplay Gasol, and the combination of Battier/Artest has to play as well as Kobe for the Rockets to have a real shot in this series. I think the Rockets are best off playing Kobe straight up with Battier and letting artest lead the perimeter scoring. Without Tmac they'll need Ron to...

    09 Playoffs- Celtics vs Magic

The magic remind me of the Lakers of last year somewhat. They can play defense, but they just don't do it consistently and, as a result, lose leads. If KG were around, the Celtics would be taking this in 5 or 6. Without him defensively, however, i say Orlando in 7. When they don't make 3's, they...

    LeBron wins MVP

Well-deserved, certainly not a surprise. But MVP's seem to have a tendency of not doing so well come the Finals. Kobe last year, Dirk a couple years back, Steve Nash (never made it to the finals), KG when he won it, and Allen iverson. I think Duncan was the last MVP winner to actually win the...

Super Star players you just can't stand!

Tmac and Pierce are guys i can't stand, especially since Tmac has so much talent yet his team is far better without him. Also, I hate how Pierce claimed to be the best player in the world. He isn't even on the same level as Kobe, LeBron, and Wade. He's just slightly above Carmelo in my book.

09 Playoffs- Jazz vs Lakers series thread

Can't say enough about what a job Brewer did on Kobe tonight. He was very pesky and didn't make many mistakes. I'm not a boozer fan or anything, but he was nothing short of awesome tonight. That spin move and dunk over pau late in the game was amazing. Deron didn't have a whole lot, but he made...

I guess Nash isn't the worst defensive PG in the league after all

Paul hasn't been guarding Billups much. Barkley ripped the hornets for this last night because they've been using the off-guard to cover billups and it's been a huge problem for them. Chris paul is a fine defender for his size, so i don't understand this thread at all.

Suns fail again, Lakes again in line to win NBA Championship

You lost all credibility when you claimed Kobe was a #2 pick.

Ricky Rubio Is Entering The Draft

The guy is averaging just under 10 points a game in europe, i don't know that he has the ability to score enough to be any good. I mean his vision and ball handling are one thing, but you have to have more. He can't shoot well, and he doesn't score enough. I'm not sold by any means.

    hey laker fans

Well in that case, i agree. I think he shot them out of that series during some stretches. But if your franchise player loses the series for you, you kinda have to live with it.

    hey laker fans

His so-called excessive shooting coupled with shaq's play won 3 titles, so I don't think many can really argue with what was going on in that regard. Even if they let him hog the ball to keep him happy, so what? It produced results, he's still with the team, and they're poised to be contending...

    hey laker fans

Statistically, he was clearly better. But talent-wise, I don't think many players have ever been better than Kobe. Maybe it would have been more accurate if I were to say that Kobe was the franchise player (and still is), and thus had the right to shoot the ball.

09 Playoffs- Hornets vs Nuggets series thread

Well they lost Pargo, they nearly traded away one of their best players which probably caused some turmoil, they battled injuries all year (and still aren't healthy), and they still don't have a good enough bench.

    hey laker fans

I don't think the argument is so much that Kobe's numbers weren't good as far as passing goes. It's more that because of the talent he played around, he could have had even more had he wanted to pass the ball more. I don't think anyone can deny that Kobe was, to at least some degree, a selfish...

    Kevin Garnett Could Miss Playoffs

Cavs were probably favored to make it to the finals before, but certainly now. Even if KG makes it back, I can't imagine he'd be 100% and into the flow of things by the time the King rolled into town. But then again, I take this whole report with a grain of salt. I don't think i need to...

End of season thoughts on Goran

Can't say i'm not happy with the progression he's made. for where he was picked, he's doing just fine. When i watch him play, i can't help but hope he does good things and cheer for him when he does. I hope he sticks around and gets more time to develop here.

Go figure, Amare has something to say about something that he has little to no control over.

    Shaq Was Damn Right!!!

not this argument again, please. Shaq couldn't have led the lakers to the titles without Kobe, nor Kobe without Shaq. Shaq did it with wade, and Kobe may very well do it with Gasol (and got close last year). Give the "shaq won the lakers their titles" argument a rest.

SUNS - MAVS aka The Season GAME THREAD!!!!

Even if the suns take this one, they'll still have a lot of work to do. Boy, that game against Sacramento looks really huge now. But if our "season game" is only going to give us a chance to play the Lakers in the first round, I don't see why it's all that big of a deal. Making the playoffs only...

    College team game

University of Southern California (USC) Gabe Pruitt O.J Mayo Nick Young Balkman Scalabrine Or Alabama Mo Williams Sprewell (Okay, he's retired. Still a funny character) Gerald Wallace Robert Horry Antonio McDyess I think I like Duke's team the best though.

    Official 2009 Draft Thread

I think Griffin is like Boozer meets Stoudemire. He has a better back-to-the-basket game than Amare does, and he's a very good rebounder at the college level. That may not translate when he gets to the NBA and has to rebound over bigger, more athletic players but i definitely see no reason he...
