Mike Budenholzer - Officially Suns new Head Coach

Ishbia has good reason to do so. Last season's team never had a consistent and smooth development of chemistry and proper game plans, except for big-3 isos. While Oubre, DJones, Jalen Johnson, Bitadze etc. came out big contributing for their respective teams, our min player acquisitions all...

If we signed RO for say 15m the first year with 3rd year team option, who could we get midseason for RO + 1st rounder, similar to Mavs' deal for Washington and Garford?

The team lost trust in Vogel, without defense as a team, everything is in vain. Beal gave up in game 4 as his guesture at the 6th foul exit showed.

IMO, it's premature to give up on contending ambition and to rebuild. Beal was healthy the 2nd half of the season and showed he still can play. It's about the right team concept from defense to offensive game plans to on court execution that need improve.

The main issue is the price. I don't think RO has much market value. 8 mil x 3 years shall do it. PS: actually each year there are min players like Derrick Jones, Oubre, N.Marshall out there who are not worse than RO.

In hindsight, the better deal would be to sign and trade for Irvine for Ayton and Shamet, and have CP3 either coming off bench or as expiring for later teals. Without Nurk, maybe we could get Bitadze or some other min C instead of Eubanks.

He'd be the PF on D and point forward on O. I guess.

As clutch players go, Doncic > Irvine > Tatum = Booker = Ant = JBrown

Mavs have the best 2 individual scorers under pressure in the whole NBA, who are also among the best passers. Minn roster is maybe too big to properly stop those perfect PnRs. It's up to Boston to stop them, or Dallas becomes the new dynasty.

When you have big-3 like that, the main worry shall remain to establish strong enough defense at least the level of final 4 teams in this year's POs, in order to stay in the game. It starts from the weakest link that's Booker.

I believe having Young as the associated head coach was part of the reason that caused the failure. I never understood why a reknowned defensive coach Vogel failed to install proper defense all season long.

Wolves players are talented but just not smart or experienced enough. And Kidd is definitely the better coach. Finch finally played KyleA more with very good result.

Towns and Wolves' players are all just too raw, with a lot of bonehead plays. Suns defense was just too bad that made them still effective enough.

Kidd, and thus Doncic, know Conley's defensive tendency that led to those 2 assisted 3pt by Jones. Booker gambles, and thus gets exploited, the same way on D like Conley.

2024 NBA Draft talk: Suns own pick 22

Knowing LAL want to get Bronny, any team might do it somewhere in the 2nd and try to blackmail Lakers for a favorable deal. JJ as close friend would do a reasonable deal with them. Maybe Beal for Rui, Russell and Vincent and future 1st rounders; or just for their 17th pick?

You are right. I was thinking of his current state of stardom. Seems Mikal has been hotter on the trade market now.

Pacers overachieved big time. They have no top-15 star, their best one is Haliburton who's injury prone and not a top scorer, 2nd best Siamkam is at most Mikal Bridges level player. But they have 7-8 more above avg. starter-quality players that are confident to contribute in Turner, Nesmith...

Wolves offense is often quite chaotic. When Ant is hot and has the ball, own players are not clearing out the path fast enough.

Wolves players don't know how to sell moving screen calls on Gafford, the way Mavs guys do and Thunders' Dort does. And they came back when Conley's out with 3 straight fouls in the 3rd, despite his consecutive 3pts

Kidd is a very good coach. He adjusts well. After a couple of games, he knows the best way possible with talent on hand, to defend the other team and to attack.

The rule is, when you keep it close to the end, the aggregate star power difference makes the outcome difference; as evidenced in all the series so far. Suns' problem is, their defensive woes wouldn't have given them any chance to last till the final min.

Overall, Kidd game planned and in-game adjusted much better than Finch. Plus starpower overhand. Plus refs. That's the difference.
