    Possible Replacement for Amare?

Possible replacement? Why don't you just sign Amare to market price and then trade him for equal value a year later, the alternative being rebuilding right way?

    Possible Replacement for Amare?

Lee will never face 3 defenders. That's the point. Lee probably is as good a bigman passer as Diaw or Brad Miller or even Gasol. And I heard Murphy was also a great rebounder and supposedly available.

    Possible Replacement for Amare?

It's not about numbers only. Lee wouldn't attract defensive attention the way Amare does. Nash and others would get more pressure with Lee replacing Amare, and the summary results would be worse. It's not fantasy league that your team wins with adding up stats numbers.

    Possible Replacement for Amare?

First, read my post again. Where did I say Nash can't hit shots in general? Second, it's you and some others who have being worrying about Amare's stats. Wait, maybe you meant just that.:D You want to get rid of him so that you don't want to be worrying about his stats any more, right?:bang:

    Possible Replacement for Amare?

Reuniting Nash with Dirk is only good on paper. Nash no longer can hit those fall-away, more precisely put fall-down, jumpers in the paint. He can't do the scoring-50-pt thing anymore, which would be needed. Bosh is impossible. Boozer is the rebounder everybody here wants from their starting PF...

    Thank you Suns!!!

Both overachieved and underachieved. Chemistry wise and expectation wise, they overachieved. Talent wise, however, they might have underachieved. Amare, JRich, Frye could play better. It's about the right combination of game plans and motivation and chemistry. We started the season by starting...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 6 – Lakers At Suns Game Thread

Despite 4 rebs and tight shooting touches from Amare, we were in the game and had a chance to win if not for Kobe's unworldly clutch shots, and the flops by Fisher and Gasol in crunch time. Put it this way, Amare would be Nash's only chance to ever sniff on the WCFs again before he retires...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 6 – Lakers At Suns Game Thread

I wouldn't say Gasol had an awful game. He helped to stop Amare. We went to Amare all night. The strategy in itself was sound. Amare could get past his man at will. But credit Lakers for great defensive help under basket which forced Amare often too deep under it, swarmed by 3 defenders. A...

    Thank you Suns!!!

+1 Really proud of the team. Considering the time span of our turnaround, it's highly improbable achievement for the whole team. We have been learning to play as a team, particularly over the playoffs. We have been constantly adjusting and improving. Just not enough time to make good on earlier...

    From Hero to Goat

Can't really blame JRich for that. Artest did a hell of a job anticipating the rebound, which was far away from where both positioned.

Could Amare have played better than he did in that game? Yes, he could. Did we lose that game? Yes, we lost. So, it's on Amare! OK, you win.

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 5 – Suns At Lakers Game Thread

The thread should have the subtitle: Do we have anything to complain about Amare in any loss? If so, look no further, we can't win with this guy! I bet you find majority of Suns fans on this board sharing this attitude, which I consider sad.

    Amare Ought to be Embarassed

True, 4 rebounds for our starting PF was girly, just like zone defense is girly that put the said starting PF to defend perimeter and challenge 3pt shots by the likes of Fisher and Artest.

    Amare Ought to be Embarassed

I thought most of our players did good. Sometimes, it's the other team's adjustment and game strategy that determines the outcome, despite full effort from everybody. Lakers came in much better prepared and did their adjustment. Our strategy and adjustment were not as good. We still made it a...

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 5 – Suns At Lakers Game Thread

AZsteven and elindolm seem to have an issue with anybody who wouldn't wholeheartedly blame this on Amare. That was Amare whose lack of effort spoiled a great performance by Nash. Doug Collins finally came out of the closet as the Nash hater.

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 5 – Suns At Lakers Game Thread

Many fans ain't able to see the details of the game, but have their focus all on the stats. Find a scapegoat on the stats sheet. Everything seems fine for them. We have the same observation for the game. But, in hindsight, it's probably just some bad combination. I thought Gentry wanted to...

If you threaten me with suicide, I'd consider leaving which has nothing to do with Stoudemire. Or just ban me. From your tone, you appear to have the power to.

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 5 – Suns At Lakers Game Thread

watch the game! Nash establishing himself as the scorer is what I have been proposing. Yet, in this particular game... well see my earlier comments. he was the best player for us in this game. I was trying from coach's perspective to see where there is improvement. You can't just say "more...

Isn't zone defense illegal in the NBA?

Initially, I was wondering the same. But looking more closely, Lakers players were constantly cutting through the paint. I believe that restarts the defenisve 3-sec. count each time.

Playoffs 2010: Western Conf Finals, Game 5 – Suns At Lakers Game Thread

Lakers devoted a lot of attention to paint defense against our bigs. Both Lopez and Amare got fierce resistence arond the basket, and they seemed to have really studied their tendencies as evidenced in so many blocks they got on both. Those who judge by stats sheets would say Amare had a bad...

Can The Suns Bench Take Their Show On The Road?

the bench suffered in the first two games with Frye. not only was he scared offensively, but that huge burden also distracted him from doing good defense to his best ability. so, no matter how cold Frye might be, the bench's defense will be there for us to stay in the game.

    Lakers in trouble?

That's accurate description for the Suns. Our team has an unreal steadiness in its putting pressure on the other team. Offense with starters, defense with bench, and on top of that excellent offensive output from the bench, and then fresh legs for the starters for both defense and offense to...

Will Magic be the first team to come back from 3-0?

Me too. But for the reason that Celtics were the more steady team while Magics the more crazy and wild team. Celtics wouldn't pose any surprise to us and I have no doubt we'd have our offense going as well as the case in the whole playoffs. But when Nelson nails those crazy shots, or Lewis or...

    Supporting cast

Actually, the evolution of Gentry regarding trusting bench and offensive weapons other than Nash-dribbling has been an interesting one. He didn't do either in our first game vs. Blazers. However, Nash was kind of hurt or worn out, which forced his hands a little, which turned out blessing in...
