    Sunday...set the tone early.

Your assessment makes a lot of sense. Hopefully we will have taken a hard look at the way we allowed Brees to exploit the use of their running game and their screen passes in order to produce a whopping 400 plus yards of offensive football. Film study of that game could go very far toward...

    Coach's Tape Review: Saints Game

Nice presentation K-9. It will be interesting to see how this defense continues under Bettcher. While one major commandment broken in crunch time did not seem to impact the game negatively, it will be nice to see if that pattern continues and what impact it has going forward.

Week 1 Snap Counts and a few thoughts

Chopper, nice job of laying that snap count information out to us. I really look forward to seeing that each week. It is one of the most meaningful statistical elements for checking on our team's performance that I know of. Thanks for your help.

Week 1 Snap Counts and a few thoughts

Throwing Watford's name out there with Sowell's and Humphries' is just plain terrible. Watford had a tremendous first game and has probably taken the RT position completely away from Massie, who has already started for one year on this team. I believe you need to get updated on our O-line...

    Tackle BA !

Thesmel was right on, BA's play calling in the 2nd quarter was way out of balance towards the pass. The smelly one's half-time stats show that. The return to normalcy in the 2nd half returned the game to balance, and a return to solid football. Terrible 2nd quarter from a play calling...

    Game 1 Takeaways

Really another fine job Mitch. I do enjoy your assessments as they are so very accurate so very often. I find it fascinating to compare your assessment of a particular incident with K-9's assessment of the same thing. While they often focus on differing opinions of just how each viewed the...

Welcoming a Baby Girl to the Cardinal Family.....

Congratulations. There is very likely to be a very special relationship between you and your first born, especially as since she is a little girl. I shall never forget mine at three months, born Sept. 10th, as she lay sleeping in her little carrier under our Christmas tree, all decked out in...

    A good win

One thing that I completely overlooked was how well Fitz has assimilated himself into his new role on this offense. With both he and Fells filling out the underneath patterns, and Juron Brown helping out in the slot and more mid to longer ranges, our receiving depth is very, very good even...

    A good win

Ha ha ha, I love your comment about the new 'knee deep', and I wholeheartedly agree. Someone needs to get Amos Jones' attention. We have far too many talented players on special teams to be playing like we do in the transition game. To me, Butler seems to have been selected by Rod Graves...

    Ellington Update is good news

Haha, welcome to present day Cardinals football -------------we are beginning to have that kind of depth clear across our roster Cardiac. What a difference three years has made.

    A good win

OK then---------#1 is out of the way, and it was a very good win. That is not to say that there won't be a number of red faces when BA breaks out his little note book during the film sessions this week, but that the overall effort was sufficient to chalk up a pretty solid W to begin the new...

Team Awards AZ 31 NO 19

Nice job Mitch------------this was a real feel-good win and you have listed the huge reasons why. A great win to begin the new season, although there will be a good number of red faces in the room when BA breaks out his little note book during the film sessions this week.

Az Native, I admire the heck out of your avatar, oh my!

    Saturday before our season opener:

Mitch, I seem to remember Sowell being able to slide and mirror very well when he came out of college. He only weighed about two eighty or eighty five pounds then, and had no strength. Now he is heavier, and can't slide and mirror very well because of it, and he is still weak. Damn Shame !

    Saturday before our season opener:

Well, here it finally is, the last day before our season opener tomorrow against the Saints and Drew Brees. What a seemingly strange tack this off season has taken. BA had promised that the cuts this year to get to roster strength would be brutal, and he was right. How appropriate was it that...

    Momah to Start?

I am thinking that Momah might be used in our red zone offense. Having a big tall fast target with good hands like him inside the 20 could be ideal.

    Week 1 Cards vs. Saints

I would only reiterate Harry's feeling that our new DC will be up to dealing with the task at hand. I feel that our coaching staff is NOT a part of the equation that we need to fear. I do feel that there will be some first game jitteriness do deal with, especially from some of the newer...

    Logan Thomas Claimed by Dolphins

Mitch, I am truly saddened by the fact that we did not retain Logan Thomas. Of all our bubble personnel, he was indeed my favorite because he is the one that I felt was most like Andy Dufrane, (he literally did crawl through 5 football fields of excrement and came out clean on the other end)...

    No OT Help

I am quite sure that the Cards will try to get Steen onto the PS. I believe that he has shown enough this off season to be a significant carry over for genuine competition to both Sendlein and Shipley next year. He is bigger and stronger that either of them, and if given a full season to learn...

    Farewell Dr. Jen

For one thing, when she was first brought on board, the articles on the official site concerning her hiring noted that one of her specific duties was to be able to work on getting our players to become more focused on form, wrap-up tackling. Foote and Kirkland were both here prior to her coming...

    My picks for practice squad

Nicely done Snakester. I believe that the actual practice squad will be very much like your predictions. All those you listed are worthy of being on the practice squad. I would be stunned if the Cards did not at least try to get Logan Thomas on it, as he seems to me to be well on his way to...

    Farewell Dr. Jen

I am so very pleased to see our defense applying her wrap up techniques when tackling the opponents this year. I thought that the Denver game was the epitome of pure form wrap ups as the defense went about its business Thursday night. That is a direct tribute to her abilities, and is a much...

    QB or not QB---------------

That is all I will address after this last pre-season game. Since I do not know how many QB's the team will keep, (they have been saying only two), I will go with that for now. I will say that after watching all the preseason games, my selection for #3 QB on this team would be Logan Thomas...

    Fitz's Interview...

I could easily see him being a roving ambassador for the league, or even for the Cardinals after his retirement.

    We. Need. Daryl. Washington.

Watford was NOT going against third stringers. He was matched head up with Kahlil Mack, and was the ONLY Cardinals offensive lineman to handle him during this game. The Raiders played their first stringers throughout most of the third quarter.
