2021 2nd round pick is Rondale Moore WR

Its about as rational to draft a first round rb at 16 as drafting a punter in round two (looking at our very own Mr. Licht doing business in Tampa) :)

    Steelers kick our rear again

Harris will be great for the Steelers with his 1200 yards on 350 attempts. Lol. Lots of runs into stacked boxes, making sure there will be countless third and long situation. The Steelers porous O-line then takes care that Ben will have no time to get a long pass off. Total recipe for success...

Devonta Smith is 6-0 and 166lbs according to Albert Breer.

    Caleb Farley poll?

To me, Newsome has the far higher floor (good CB2), while the technically raw Farley has the higher ceiling. Newsome would be good addition.

    Over-hyped guys you don’t like

Thats why Smith will probably not be picked that high. The risk-reward relation is just not there for most GMs. On the other hand, for teams with lots of draft capital (Miami, Carolina, Philly) picking him very high seems reasonable.

Massive Trade - Balt sends Orlando Brown Jr to Chiefs for picks

The difference is that the Ravens still have a good LT on their roster. If we somehow luck into a 2nd good LT, I am supporting you in trading away one LT for draft picks like the Ravens did.

Massive Trade - Balt sends Orlando Brown Jr to Chiefs for picks

Reality check: even by today DJs contract averages are not among the top ten offensive lineman, and you wont get another LT in free agency even close to DJs quality for less. By next year, DJs contract will look even better. If you have a solid LT, you keep him. You have to overpay on the open...

Path to the draft....trades, rumors, etc

Fourth best Cr or Wr every time. Chances are really high that the "best" player at any given position is not the best player at that position anyway. The draft is essentially playing the lottery. Go for positional value as often as possible. That gives better long term results.

I agree fully, for the NFL 15 years ago. Do not forget to Punt always, going for it on fourth down is far too riskful.

2019 1st round pick is QB Kyler Murray

Rated the 12th best OL by PFF, good in pass protection and weak in run blocking.

Thats an old story told on television for a long time. For some time, certainly aided by rule changes, the tides have turned. Today, the passing game makes and helps the running back and not the other way around. Take Derrick Henry as an example. He started out relatively slowly, after being...

I strongly disagree with that statement. Any QB grows when they have both a functionable Oline and a number of receivers who can regularly get separation. Any OL is only as good as its weakest link. Last year, we had three good to solid OLs at LT, LG and RT. Unfortunately, C was bad and RG was...

Exactly, rb's are usually good right out of the gate while cb's usually take longer to adapt to the NFL and new schemes.

So you want to overpay with an early round pick? I can already hear you complain next year if we do not have a young cb/wr/olb on the roster.

See, thats why you do not draft a first round rb or pay a rb. Most injured skill position due to being hit basically every snap, either blocking for the qb or getting hit carrying the ball.

yeah, my bad, he had 721 yds on 169 attempts and 17 broken tackles which works out to 9.9 broken tackles per attempt.

FA RB James Conner (Steelers) - Signed to Contract 04/13/21

The 49ers dont have better running backs, but they have the Shanahan running offense, bringing out the best in average running backs throughout Mikes and Kyles career. Good story from the Ringer...

FA RB James Conner (Steelers) - Signed to Contract 04/13/21

If we have a subpar D and our wr routes and passing offenses will not be better next year, we will play from behind a lot and our running backs will get less carries as a result. If that happens you will definitely be right regarding rb stats. If we have a functional D and a working passing...

2020 regular season stats once again: Fournette: 367 attempts;0 broken tackles; 1.7 yards before tackle; 2.0 yards after tackle Conner: 721 attemps, 17 broken tackles (9.9 att/bT); 2.3 before tackle; 1,7 after tackle Going by Fournettes play off stats could also tell us that running back...

Advanced stats were for 2020 only. Time for you to wake up and shake your misperception regarding Conner. He is and neuer was a top 5 rb or close to it, but he is at least an average starting rb by basically every metric.
