Wow, I'm surprised nobody is watching this especially when most people on this board pride themselves as being legit basketball fans. The series has been quite lopsided, but there have ben some intersting stories coming out of the first two games. Some observations...
Shaq looks like he's about finished which is not good for the Heat considering he still has four years and $80 million left on his contract. He's being outplayed by Erick Dampier (no, that's not a typo) and his already horrible FT shooting has gone even more into the crapper. Looks like there was a method to the madness of Jerry Buss in trading Shaq.
Can anyone tell me why Dwyane Wade should re-sign with the Heat? Looking at their roster, I see an old team with the bloated contracts of former superstars and little room to manuever. Riles jumped headfirst trying to win a championship this year but it looks like it's not going to happen and this team might be in trouble long-term because of it.
Dirk is a superstar, plain and simple. He has gone from only an outside shooter who was uselss if the shots weren't falling to a well-rounded player who's on the verge of being the first European to lead his team to an NBA Championship. Hate on Dirk all you want, but if/when he holds up the Finals Trophy it will be a historically significant moment in NBA history.
Best case scenario for the Heat I see them winning two at home, but Dallas
taking care of business back in Texas in Game 6. I couild also se the Mavs sweeping them in easy fashion as the series has been quite lopsided for the past seven quarters.
