Mavs in 6. Got to be better than the SA/Detroit boring series of last year.

That was a pretty dull game 1.

Did anyone else get sick knowing it could have been the SUNS playing last night?

I do think the Suns were good enough to beat the Heat, but they couldn't get by the Mavericks, so it's moot. Dallas and San Antonio really were the two best teams this year, so the winner of that series deserves to go all the way.

Mavs are dismantling the Heat. It's a shame the Suns couldn't get past the Mavs.

Admittedly I haven't watched much of this series, but what I have seen has been pretty painful. Dallas is just a much, much better team.

Wow, I'm surprised nobody is watching this especially when most people on this board pride themselves as being legit basketball fans. The series has been quite lopsided, but there have ben some intersting stories coming out of the first two games. Some observations...

Shaq looks like he's about finished which is not good for the Heat considering he still has four years and $80 million left on his contract. He's being outplayed by Erick Dampier (no, that's not a typo) and his already horrible FT shooting has gone even more into the crapper. Looks like there was a method to the madness of Jerry Buss in trading Shaq.

Can anyone tell me why Dwyane Wade should re-sign with the Heat? Looking at their roster, I see an old team with the bloated contracts of former superstars and little room to manuever. Riles jumped headfirst trying to win a championship this year but it looks like it's not going to happen and this team might be in trouble long-term because of it.

Dirk is a superstar, plain and simple. He has gone from only an outside shooter who was uselss if the shots weren't falling to a well-rounded player who's on the verge of being the first European to lead his team to an NBA Championship. Hate on Dirk all you want, but if/when he holds up the Finals Trophy it will be a historically significant moment in NBA history.

Best case scenario for the Heat I see them winning two at home, but Dallas
taking care of business back in Texas in Game 6. I couild also se the Mavs sweeping them in easy fashion as the series has been quite lopsided for the past seven quarters.

I’ve been watching. I wasn’t planning on it, but my son is very into it, so I’m in too. I guess I missed Miami signing Shaq to the $80 million extension. What a joke. What were they thinking? It was a good trade up to that point. If you think Shaq is going downhill now, just wait until 2010. And he’ll still be making $20 million that year.

Wade will likely resign, because the Heat can pay him more than anyone else.

I haven’t watched the Heat too much this year, but I have to believe that they can play better than they have over the last 2 games. A couple of W’s and they’re right back in it.

Tonights game was great...hated seeing the heat win, but wow. I still don't think they'll beat Dallas.

I voted Heat in 6 before the start, and even down 2-1 I still think (or maybe hope) Miami wins.

Wow - that was a straight-up beat-down tonight. I wouldn't be surprised if Stackhouse is suspended for Game 5 - that was a seriously hard foul on Shaq.

This is such an interesting finals. To me, there is reasons for and against either team winning.

Why it would be good if the Mavs Won
1. The suns will have lost to the Champs
2. Proves a running style offense can win
3. Shows the need for depth in the playoffs
Why it would be Good is the Mavs Lost
1. Cuban-Enough said
2. Can't stand them winning becuase the beat the Suns
3. We won't have to hear about how great dirk is for the whole offseason

Why it would be good if the Heat won
1. Shaq gets a title without Kobe
2.Wade will want to stay, and once Shaq leaves the heat won't be that good
3. Alonzo Mourning has been though a lot, Would be nice to see him get a ring

Why it would be good if the Heat lost.
1. Payton winning a title?
2. Walker winning a title?
3. Wade will be stuffed down our throats for the rest of the summer.

Thoughts on game 5:

Wade was bailed out with the foul call. There is no way that should have been called.

BUT,

It wouldn't have mattered if Damp and Howard wouldn't have choked at the line. So the Mavs get no sympathy from me.

Smooth move, Howard.
:biglaugh:

Maybe he was thinking, "I've got to take the heat off my homey, Phil Mickelson?"

what a great Finals this has been - home team holds serve in Games 1 and2, a desperate Heat team, 6 minutes from a 3-0 deficit rally from 13 to get back in the series, an ass-whooping in Game 4 to tie and an absolute CLASSIC in Game 5 - these playoffs have been PHENOMENAL and watching Dallas implode and Mark Cuban crap his pants is priceless!

How game 6 should go

Tight game in the 4th quarter
- technicals on Nowitzki and A. Johnson
- Heat get on a run
- Walker airballs a 3 and the 24secs expire, Heat get the ball back because the refs say it touched the rim
- Dallas somehow gets close, misses the gamewinner, Nowitzki misses the putback while Shaq hacks him but doesn't get the call (see Duncan in the Mavs series the non-call that would have elminated Dallas).
