I really wasn't too excited about any of the free agent signings this year. But Ortiz was easily the worst decision.

Hands down the worst. One thing both scouts and sabermetricians (two groups who basically never see eye to eye) agreed upon was how Ortiz was done as a pitcher. Somebody in the DBack FO thought differently.

Buddy Groom went off on Joe Torre yesterday. He is 40 years old and looks like a hot head to me.

He's not much of a hot-head whatsoever....I could care less what fans post on a Yankees message board since most of them are filled with so much disdain anyways....

I've known about Buddy Groom since he debuted with the Tigers as a starter in '92 and struggled, but a few years later found a niche as a solid left-handed specialist.... He's very efficient against LH and that is something the Dbacks obviously have been in dire need of...... He adds another veteran arm, so would reduce down on the wear-and-tear that has been inflicted on the likes of Cormier and Valverde.....

I must applaud the Front Office on being proactive by acquiring Groom and Worrell recently and sacrificing any of the highly regarded prospects.... I bet it will be cash or a marginal prospect the Dbacks are able to part with that wont affect the team at all.... So... definitely a good move.....
